French Bran Statement Teams Up with Violette_Fr Founder for Jewelry Capsule

by R.Donald

GOLDEN GLOW: For Statement founder Amélie Huynh, her seven-year-old jewelry brand wouldn’t exist without makeup artist Violette Serrat.

That’s why Huynh chose her as the inaugural partner for “Portrait Joailler,” a collaboration series that will highlight those the jeweler finds inspiring.

The makeup artist “was one of the first to wear the MyWay ring even before the brand [formally] existed,” the jeweler told WWD at a dinner cohosted with Huynh’s sister Mélanie Huynh, the founder of holistic beauty label Holidermie who completes their longstanding friendship trio.

As early as 2016, Statement’s signature Art Deco-inspired design was front and center on Serrat’s YouTube channel, which led to the launch of the Violette_Fr makeup label. Requests for the ring came in thick and fast, which precipitated the launch of the jewelry label.

The ring continues to be a bestseller for the brand. It caught the eye of newly Parisian actress Pauline Chalamet, who joked at the dinner that it looked like a secret handshake in her new crowd and that she needed one.

Meanwhile, others took in the “Her Way” capsule, comprising a sautoir necklace and earrings featuring rotund handcarved ebony pendants dotted with rounded gold studs.

When the idea of a collaboration came together, Huynh and Serrat quickly agreed to make wood central to the design.

“For my part, I do things that don’t exist, [work] with innovation,” said the Violette_Fr founder, who was also Guerlain’s creative director of makeup from 2021 to 2024. Seeing Statement introduce the material in its jewelry lines last year was “hyper refreshing because it’s not new but you don’t see it that often these days,” she added.

The organic shapes were inspired by “the interpretation of femininity that Violette defends in everything she does, everything she has undertaken,” Huynh said, lauding Serrat’s generosity and faithfulness in friendship.

Available from Wednesday on Statement’s e-commerce site and Paris flagship, both pieces are priced at 3,200 euros.
