NeverNoT always knocks it out of the park when it comes to whimsical high-end jewels, whether their inspiration comes from suitcases, the chessboard, or something else.
For the 2026 Couture show in Las Vegas (which opens next Wednesday), NeverNoT is once again bringing a sense of play to the show floor, this time with a line of jewelry that may very well have attendees moving to the beat.

NeverNoT Music, the London-based brand’s vibrant new collection, celebrates music and its ability to transcend cultures, generations, and time itself. At the center of the collection is the boombox, an icon of the 1980s and ’90s that, while no longer an everyday object, remains instantly recognizable and emotionally resonant.
Here, NeverNoT cofounder and designer Nina Dzhokhadze—who cofounded the brand with friend Natia Chkhartishvili—discusses the origins of the collection, the emotional power of music, and nostalgia’s role in today’s fine jewelry market.

What made you decide to explore music as a theme in high jewelry?
Music has always been a source of inspiration and energy. When I work out, when I cook, when I hike, I always listen to music, and we always listen to upbeat music in our NeverNoT office in London. Music has this powerful energy to magically calm you down whether you are stressed, anxious, or in need of a boost in energy levels, motivating with positivity almost instantly. And nothing beats live music: concerts, festivals, or simply going out for a dance.
Why the boombox specifically, versus another musical symbol?
Being raised in late ’80s and ’90s, we remember how the first boombox was purchased by our parents, and what it looked like. It was this brand-new technology, huge in size, with so many different buttons, the inclusion of the cassette. You could fast-forward and rewind your favorite song and listen to it hundreds of times. I was always asked by my parents to make the music quieter because it was too loud. All my first memories of discovering music, artists I still listen to now, lyrics I was memorizing, and my all-time favorite songs, were coming out of this magical big boombox in my room.
Nostalgia continues to be a powerful force in luxury—how do you think consumers are responding to emotionally driven design right now?
Storytelling is very important in everything that surrounds us. Not only does the collection tell a story, it’s an ode to an entire era and our tribute to the songs that shaped us, the melodies that hold our memories, and the rhythms that unite us. It celebrates music as a bridge between past and present, a timeless reminder that while trends may evolve, the emotional power of music remains eternal.

How do you envision retailers merchandising a collection like this within a fine jewelry environment?
Boombox is a very distinctive piece of jewelry. As a piece, it’s very unique, but we envision both men and women being drawn to its shape. And once it is in the stores, I’m sure it will be attracting a lot of attention. Even if you will not wear it, you will still notice and remember seeing it.
Are consumers currently looking for more conversational or personality-driven pieces?
I think customers in general are always interested in something that they connect with. Jewelry has this power to evoke deep emotions, bring you back to your favorite memories, or remind you of someone you love and care for. When you wear such a piece of jewelry, it’s more meaningful than any fashion accessory or piece of clothing. It stays with you for decades and passes through generations.
Do you see NeverNoT Music as primarily collector-focused, or is there a broader customer base for these designs?
I think the collection will connect with many people and different generations. It is the symbol of an era when we had no phones, no social media. Yes, maybe pace of life was slower, calmer than now, but it was so genuine, so real and authentic. I am still obsessed with ’80s and ’90s tunes—they are all iconic. Even though we don’t use boomboxes anymore in daily life, when you see it now, it looks even cooler than before. It is almost futuristic-looking and something you want to own again. I wish I kept mine from my childhood.

What were the biggest design challenges of translating something as mechanical as a boombox into high jewelry?
After we designed the NeverNot Travel suitcases, we had no design challenges, as we enjoy transforming ordinary objects into more expressive pieces through jewelry that you can wear every day. The small boomboxes catch all the elements of the real thing—buttons, cassette holder, antennas, colorful details. Even the back of the boombox has original details: essential ports, inputs for wires, and power ports. Basically, it’s a miniature gold boombox with diamonds and gemstones.
Do you design differently knowing the collection will debut during Las Vegas Jewelry Week?
The collection literally hit us out of nowhere. I saw an old boombox and told Natia, “This would be the best new collection.” The shape reminded me of the NeverNoT travel suitcases, which are so wearable and recognizable. I wanted to wear a boombox myself almost immediately.
It was so close to Vegas Couture that I said let’s design it for the next year, as we have so little time and it will be almost impossible to achieve sketching, sampling, 3D CAD design, and production in less than two months. But Natia was so inspired by the idea that literally in two days she drew several different options and different colors and insisted that we can do it this year. Our production and design team made an almost impossible task come true, in a very short time, and we now have eight different boomboxes coming to Vegas.
What would you like people to feel the moment they see, or wear, these pieces?
I hope they will love it. A familiar melody can instantly revive feelings, stories, and milestones, creating powerful bonds not only between friends but across generations.
Our children—my 19-year-old son, Nick, and Natia’s 22-year-old daughter, Nanu—said that it’s the coolest NeverNoT collection so far, and that really confirmed that it’s for all generations and the boombox has a special meaning to many people. That’s why we engraved it with NeverNoT Turn It Up, inspiring wearers to turn the music and sound up, and enjoy!
