XREAL Aura has moved from Google I/O tease to reservation product. XREAL has opened reservations for the Android XR glasses. The company targets a fall 2026 launch and says the base model will not exceed $1,500 before taxes.
That still leaves shoppers without the real price. However, it gives the first public ceiling for a device that sits above simple display glasses and below bulkier mixed-reality headsets.
What XREAL Aura is selling
On the official XREAL Aura page, the company describes portable spatial-computing glasses powered by Android XR. Aura uses a tethered compute puck instead of putting every chip and battery inside the frames.

XREAL lists a 70-degree optical see-through display and Sony Micro-OLED panels at 1920 by 1200 pixels per eye. The spec sheet also mentions refresh rates up to 120Hz, hand tracking, 6DoF anchoring, a high-resolution camera with a privacy LED, and electrochromic dimming.
Reservations start before the final price
XREAL has two reservation paths. A $99 Launch Credit becomes $199 toward Aura at launch. A $299 Founder Priority Pass has a 2,000-unit limit and promises earliest-batch delivery in supported regions.
The catch is clear: neither option reveals the final purchase price. XREAL says reservation payments apply to the final purchase and remain refundable before final confirmation.
Why this Android XR launch matters
Aura gives Android XR a lighter glasses-style flagship, not just a headset story. Tech My Money previously covered Samsung and Google’s first Android XR smartglasses. XREAL now moves that platform race closer to a product people can reserve.
The glasses market is also splitting fast. XREAL already sells lower-cost AR display glasses, including the $299 XREAL a01. Meta’s smart-glasses work keeps raising privacy questions, including face-recognition code found in its companion app.
For now, Aura looks like the ambitious lane: Android XR, Gemini in-view assistance, a pocket compute puck, and a price ceiling that still leaves room for sticker shock.
