Cats rescued from Roswell house fire

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Two cats were saved from a house fire in Roswell on Friday night, according to the city’s fire department.

When firefighters arrived at the home on Chattahoochee Street, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from one corner and through the roof. The one person inside made it out safely, and firefighters rescued the two cats while they searched the structure.

The American Red Cross is now helping the homeowner. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, although firefighters noted that the blaze started during thunderstorms.
