Melissa and Kevin Gallacher tied the knot at Seamill Hydro on Saturday in front of family and friends – however, some were glued to their phone screens so they wouldn’t miss the crucial match.

But the pair took it in good humour and said it made them “laugh”.

Melissa, 30, from Chryston, told the Daily Record: “I was actually really worried about the game when I heard it was on at the same time as our wedding because I knew so many of our guests would want to watch it.

“I did suggest changing the time of our ceremony, but my mum told me absolutely no way.”

While capturing Melissa and Kevin saying their vows, wedding photographer John Clark spotted Kevin’s friends Anthony and Sean watching the game on a mobile phone that was placed between the seats in front of them.

Melissa added: “We were none the wiser the guys were watching it when we were getting married, but when we saw John’s video it really made us laugh. They were obviously trying to be discreet, but they got caught.”

Celtic fan Kevin, 35, said he had also been keeping an eye on the score before he walked down the aisle.

He said: “I was trying to catch a bit of it but I had to leave to get sorted so John the photographer put it on his phone for me. He was brilliant.”

Melissa said the room emptied pretty quickly after the end of the ceremony, adding: “They were all desperate to get out to check the score on their phones.

“We were all just laughing and joking about it. There was no dramas. Everyone had a great day. Thanks to John for capturing the memories for us. He was amazing.”
