The Community Education Series at Placerita Canyon Nature Center is designed to bring neighbors closer to the wildlife that shares our home in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Coexisting With Rattlesnakes will be held Sunday, June 21, 2-3 p.m. at the Placerita Canyon Nature Center, 19152 Placerita Canyon Road, Newhall, CA 91321.
Spring brings more snake sightings across SCV canyons and backyards and with them, a lot of myths, misinformation and unnecessary fear.
Join the Placerita Canyon Nature Center for an engaging presentation led by the center’s very own Ranger Frank for a discussion about rattlesnakes that call Southern California home.
You’ll learn how to identify the species, understand their behavior and walk away with practical tips for keeping yourself, your family and your pets safe.
“We believe education is the antidote to fear, when we understand the creatures around us, we learn to coexist with them and appreciate the vital role they play in our local ecosystem,” said a spokesperson for the Placerita Canyon Nature Associates. “From pollinators to predators, every species has a purpose and rattlesnakes are no exception.”
All ages welcome
