- Honda and Acura have launched new product lines called Partnered Accessories.
- The program offers popular products from third-party brands directly alongside a vehicle purchase.
- Thule is the first brand to offer products through the program.
Aftermarket accessories are big business, and Honda is trying to make the experience a bit simpler for its owners. The automaker has announced a new line, Honda Partnered Accessories, that it will offer alongside Honda Genuine Accessories, providing a broad range of third-party aftermarket parts and features that customers can buy right alongside the vehicle.
The first company joining Honda’s new accessory line is Thule, and the list of available products includes bike racks, roof storage, awnings, and more. Honda’s new accessory line coincides with the launch of an Acura equivalent, which is also offering a range of similar Thule products.
Honda says that its Partnered Accessory lines will help simplify the purchase process for customers. They will also allow Honda and Acura owners to ensure proper fitment, professional installation, and support.
It appears there will be products available for the Acura MDX, the Honda Odyssey, the CR-V TrailSport, and the Passport TrailSport, a popular trim that accounted for over 80 percent of Passport sales through the first three months of the year. We expect the product line to grow and evolve.
Motor1’s Take: Baking accessories into the purchase process for a new car is a genius way to get customers to spend even more money. Consumers love personalizing their vehicles, so this should be huge for Honda and Acura.
