Just a few weeks ago, PopSugar highlighted one of them: Inuk (Inuit) TikTok and Instagram influencer Shina Novalinga, who first caught public attention when she posted her traditional throat singing performance, per PopSugar.

In 2022, Vogue reported on this movement for cultural facial tattoos in indigenous women in Alaska. USA Today even emphasized how facial tattoos are changing society’s perception of ancient traditions. These actions reflect the spirit of body positivity, self-care and inclusivity the industry has been experiencing.
