Living the summer season to the fullest means basking in all its beauty and comfort while savoring the little moments of everyday life. This is where new textile collections for the summer season come in, made to accompany the warmest days of the year with functionality and a poetic simplicity. Whether it’s summer bedding, beach towels or home accessories, they embrace an aesthetic and productive sophistication celebrating the everyday. Certified natural materials like cotton, linen or hemp — chosen for their thermoregulatory, antibacterial and breathability characteristics — are articulated through an exceptional softness, bright or muted colors, and an elevated quality expressing both the tradition of handmade, artisanal practices and the modernity of technologies revitalizing the canonical processes of fabric production. Timeless pieces — often capsules or limited editions — also look to embrace a new longevity that leads to a more responsible production poised between craftsmanship and design.
Cotton Sheets
Kirsikankukka, designed by Aino Aalto for Tekla and Artek
In the 1930s, Aino Aalto — the wife of Alvar Aalto — created the Kirsikankukka model, inspired by the cherry blossom motif on a silk fabric given to her by the Japanese ambassador to Finland. Now, thanks to a partnership between Tekla and Artek, that design has come back to life in a limited edition collection launched in the year of the designer’s 130th birthday. For the first time, the bedding collection is also available for children, printed in white, blue and pink and made using Tekla’s high-quality percale cotton. Slightly stonewashed, the 200-thread count fabric vaunts a fresh, soft finish. All adult pieces are sold individually to allow for free combinations with Tekla collections, while the children’s collection is sold as a set.

Beach Towels
Portofino, designed and produced by Dalfilo
Bottle green arrives, along with midnight blue, sunshine yellow and strawberry pink, for the Portofino beach towel collection by Dalfilo. Worked in the textile laboratories of Val Galdino, in the province of Bergamo, the towels are made of extra soft (450 gr/m2), super absorbent, quick-drying and 100% natural OEKO-TEX-certified cotton, thanks to the two warps and one weft structure, available in the 100x180cm size that adapts to any surface. The striped pattern — 9.5 cm with a 2 cm white satin hem, also available with Estate Italiana embroidery — is featured on both the front and back, with IDH thread dyeing to ensure resistance to sun, chlorine, weather and frequent washing. The quality of the colors, unlike traditional digitally printed sheets, comes from the interweaving of white and colored threads.
Linen Pillowcases
Tracce, designed by Marta Giardini, produced by Lanerossi
100% linen is exalted in its breathable, hypoallergenic and antibacterial qualities. The Tracce home accessories collection, designed by Marta Giardini for Lanerossi, is expressed in this precious natural fabric, using linen produced by the Linificio e Canapificio Nazionale, owned by Marzotto Lab. The brand is known for an integrated and traced supply chain — from raw material to finished product — that combines a respect for tradition, environmental protection and creativity. Tracce is a capsule collection of pillows in different sizes and shades of blue, ochre and green, coloring rooms with five shaded and irregular watercolor-effect patterns featuring light and ethereal lines and spots.
Hemp Bedding Set
Majotae 9490, designed by Teruhiro Yanagihara Studio, produced by Majotae
In their first collection of luxury bedding, the Japanese brand Majotae uses hemp fabric to create Majotae 9490. Designed by Teruhiro Yanagihara, it’s made of a superior fabric for contemporary use, offering enhanced softness and durability. Added to this are the heat-regulating, antibacterial and odor-resistant properties of hemp. The company has researched and reinterpreted the ancient process of hand spinning and weaving — a method of hemp cloth production dating back to before the 19th century — with cutting-edge technology that allows for a smooth, soft and lustrous texture. The collection includes sheets (180×260 cm; 260×260 cm), comforter covers (170×210 cm; 220×220 cm) and pillowcases (50×30 cm; 60×40 cm; 75×50 cm), and can be purchased on the brand’s website.
