There have been some bold fashion sightings on the catwalks at the autumn/winter 2024 men’s shows thus far. JW Anderson proposed a pantless autumn, Prada suggested swimming caps and goggle-like glasses, while Givenchy is backing graphic, cat-emblazoned tank tops for the new season. Look beyond the playful flairs, though, and you’ll find several style quirks that are easy to replicate from the recent collections: be it patterned scarves (Louis Vuitton), double belts (Prada), layered sports tops and shirts (Botter), or corsages (JW Anderson).

These subtle additions brought a fresh feel to classic tailored silhouettes, shirting and knitwear, making them feel simultaneously timeless yet modern (the colourful leather gloves and sharp suits at Gucci were another example). Consider a floral adornment or delicate scarf moment – or both! – when planning your next outfit. Scroll on for inspiration.

Double-up

Textured swimming caps were the centrepiece of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’s latest menswear collection, but the belts deserve a mention, too. Classic buckle belts were worn with the buckles on one hip, thick triangular belts were slung loosely, while some models doubled up. After all, why wear one belt when you can wear two?

Make a floral statement

Corsages were big news at the spring/summer 2023 womenswear shows, where sprightly petals sprouted from skirts, tops and accessories. JW Anderson affirmed their nostalgic appeal on his menswear runway by placing fabric flowers on cardigans, sweaters and dresses – a simple way to elevate knitwear this winter.
