The retailer has resumed online orders and its 2025 beauty bag worth £210 only costs £35
Marks and Spencer has restarted online orders following a cyber attack in April that stopped customers from purchasing items via its website. On Tuesday, June 10, the retailer’s online store became accessible again, providing a range of fashion and new products available to buy digitally, with home delivery across England, Wales, and Scotland.
On Instagram, M&S managing director of clothing, home and beauty, John Lyttle, said: “We are bringing back online shopping this week. More of our fashion, home and beauty products will be added every day, and we will resume deliveries to Northern Ireland and Click and Collect in the coming weeks. Thank you sincerely for your support and for shopping with us.”
Many fans reacted to the news in the comment section, with one writing: “I’m SO happy to hear this!!” Another said: “Yaaaayyyy i can finally order the gorgeous yellow dressing gown that’s been in my basket for weekssss.” A third put: “THANK GOODNESS!!!”
With online services up and running again, M&S has unveiled its 2025 summer beauty bag, worth £210. But shoppers only need to spend £35 to enjoy it. The bag includes an assortment of 11 products but is, for the time being, exclusively available over the counter in stores as the brand progressively reintroduces more beauty items on its online platform.
The summer deal has already sparked waves of excitement on social media. On Facebook, a user called Tamara posted multiple snaps of the bag after buying one herself, reports the Mirror.
She said: “Beauty bargain at M&S! £35 for the bag and all of the goodies inside, which totals up to £210 worth of beauty products!” She continued: “The floral street perfume and Estée Lauder mascara are worth £29 each on their own!”
Flocking to the comments section, many shared their thoughts. Victoria replied: “It’s a lovely box, my mum treated me to it a few days ago and it’s lovely products.” Jade commented: “Got mine, it’s brilliant.” Marley tagged a mate, saying: “Have you seen this? It’s meant to be such good value for money.”

Why did M&S stop online orders?
A cyber attack in April caused major turmoil; M&S had to halt transactions on its website over Easter and faced product scarcity in stores. The hack potentially compromised customers’ personal data, including names, emails, addresses, and birth dates.
M&S recently confessed the intrusion was the result of “human error”, predicting the damages could cost nearly £300 million. While discussing yearly results in May, Chief Executive Stuart Machin revealed that intruders infiltrated using a third-party link to their IT systems.
Despite the hurdles, all 565 shops stayed up and running, though initially, contactless payments took a hit. Stock availability hiccups surfaced when M&S had to switch to manual systems in the wake of the cyber onslaught.
M&S said the incident is likely to drag its group operating profits down by around £300 million this year, but it expects this to be reduced through cost management, insurance and other reactions. The company suggested it could reduce the impact of the attack by as much as “half”.
