A Plymouth beauty salon has been named the best in the country in a surprise double award win at a prestigious awards. Purity Salon took home the trophy for Best Beauty Salon in the South West at the English Hair & Beauty Awards 2024 – along with the national title.
More than 60,000 votes were received for this year’s awards, with members of the public asked to nominate their favourite stylists and salons. Owner Lucy Phillips said staff were “over the moon” and in a “state of disbelief and gratitude” following the triumph.
The awards were first launched in England by Creative Oceanic 12 years ago and have now expanded to include ceremonies honouring the best in beauty in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Toronto and New York. The England awards are divided into regional “chapters”, with Purity competing alongside businesses in the south.

This year’s winners were announced at an awards ceremony held at the Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel on April 21.

It was the seventh time Purity Salon has been nominated alongside industry peers in a national final. The salon has previously won four other national awards.
