Regardless of the occasion, we’ve all struggled to find a gift for that one tricky person on our list. Whether they claim to already have everything that they need or they’re minimalists who prefer not to accumulate too many things, it can feel near impossible to come up with a present that they’ll love and actually use (and not just stuff into a spare closet). So to get some pointers, we asked globally renowned makeup artist, entrepreneur and Forbes 50 Over 50 honoree Bobbi Brown to curate a guide to some of her all-time favorite things that just so happen to be incredible gift ideas for the women in your life who have everything.
Yes, the Jones Road Beauty founder is well-known for her impeccable taste when it comes to cosmetics, skincare, fragrance and more, but she’s also a world-class shopper who has spent years tracking down tried-and-true fashion and jewelry staples, décor and homeware finds and even health and wellness must-haves that help fuel her busy days. “I’m a big online shopper and someone who’s really curious, so until I’ve found the best of something, I’m always continuing to look,” says Brown, who leans toward classic, utilitarian items in nearly all aspects of her life.
Her tireless and delightfully straightforward approach also lends itself to her business. “A lot of beauty companies make products that they think there’s a market for, but I just make products that I really like and I know my friends would like,” says Brown, who started Jones Road Beauty in 2020. “Jones Road is a makeup brand for women that don’t want to look like they’re wearing makeup, so I knew we had to make formulas that were really easy to apply without a lot of instructions. I just wanted women to put it on and say, ‘Wow, I look so much better.’ So for me, it’s common sense, and it all comes down to creating products that people will fall in love with and want to buy over and over again.”

Best Gifts For Women Who Have Everything At A Glance
“I buy lots of zippered L.L.Bean bags in all different sizes, and I get them embroidered to help keep me organized,” says Brown. “I have one that says ‘Work,’ where I throw everything I might need to bring to the office. I have another one that says ‘Beach,’ where I keep the sunscreen and towels, and then I have one that says ‘Give,’ where I put anything I don’t know what to do with. When that bag is full, I donate it or give it away.”
“Williams Sonoma has this great set of working glasses that I have in both my home and my office. They’re made from a heavy, clear soda-lime glass, but you can put boiling water in them and they don’t shatter. I make herbal tea in them, and as it cools down, I drink it quickly because I’m really bad at drinking water. I have the 24-ounce size, so that’s like having three full glasses.”
“I’m a big iPad person—I don’t even use a computer anymore. I love the larger iPad Pro, which I keep on my desk at home. And then I also have a regular-sized iPad that I carry around with me during the day. It helps because so many things that I do are visual. But still, whenever there’s something important that I need to edit, I take the time to print it out, take a pen to paper and do it by hand.”
Brown launched a popular limited-edition Jones Road Beauty x Lingua Franca collaboration in early November featuring sweatshirts and crewnecks with some of her favorite sayings like “What If” and “I Am Me.” Though many sizes quickly sold out, this navy cashmere crewneck with the phrase “Beauty Reinvented” embroidered on the front is still available to snap up. “I always want to encourage everyone around me to dream big, think of the possibilities and take that leap of faith,” says Brown of the inspiration behind the collection.
“I don’t cook as often as I used to because my sons are all really great in the kitchen, as is my daughter-in-law, but we have a lot of family dinners together. I recently discovered Jono Pandolfi dinnerware and it’s really wonderful. The food just looks so good on his platters because it’s also a lot about the presentation.”
“I’m all about giving a good olive oil to someone who loves to spend time in the kitchen. I found this one by Graza that tastes delicious and is not that expensive, either. It’s always a hit when I give it as a hostess gift.”
“I keep it pretty simple with jewelry. Most days, I wear my Oura Ring and my wedding ring, along with a chain by Helen Ficalora that has my kids’ initials on it. It’s something meaningful and beautiful that you can wear regularly. On the other hand, I was also once given a Jennifer Meyer necklace that says the word ‘fuck’ and it’s one of my other favorite pieces.”
“My own personal beauty routine is pretty quick. At night, I take my makeup off with the Jones Road Cleansing Stick, which has been one of the sleeper hits for the brand. It’s an oil-based cleansing stick and it takes everything off. In the winter, I’ll also put one of the Jones Road creams or our Hippie Stick on dry spots, like on my feet and hands.”

“I swear by Athletic Greens, and if I could shout it from the rooftops and tell everyone I would. I like having it first thing in the morning before my coffee, and it seems to alkalize my system, so I don’t feel as acidic. It really has been a game changer for the way I feel.”
“My husband has been buying me pearls from Ted Muehling for the past 35 years for holidays, birthdays or Mother’s Day, so I have a beautiful collection of necklaces and earrings. When I go out at night, I can put on a black cashmere sweater and throw on some pearls and look instantly fancy.”
Breaking Through: Communicating To Open Minds, Move Hearts, And Change the World
“One of the books that recently made an impact on me was Breaking Through by Sally Susman, the chief corporate affairs officer for Pfizer. She talks all about what it was like to navigate through the pandemic from day one, but she also teaches people about the power of communication and how that can make all the difference.”
“I’m really into bucket hats, so my husband bought me a cool Gucci one that I love. I also buy plain bucket hats too, to help me stay out of the sun. I’m a believer in wearing sunscreen every day, so I keep my Supergoop Sunscreen by the door to remind me to put it on whenever I leave the house.”
Eli Zabar The Gift Of Caviar
“My favorite thing that I give more than I get is caviar,” says Brown. “To me, there’s no better gift than one tin of the blackest caviar you can find. I love it for any occasion.”
“My favorite décor piece in my home is a vintage Louis Vuitton trunk that sits in my living room. I bought it decades ago, and now we have three sons that are fighting over who gets it. You can’t really put anything on them, but they look really cool in a space.”
“I recently upgraded my bras and it’s a really nice thing to do for yourself. My favorites are by Eres, and they’re more expensive than I’m usually comfortable with, but they’re beautifully made and make me feel so good.”
“Everyone has different opinions about pens, but I love using the Poppin pen in either the pink blush color or in white. They’re really simple and clean-looking. I probably like the way they look more than how they actually write, but I keep tons of them on hand for work.”
“I bought six pairs of Muji jeans last year and I adore them. I’d been looking for Japanese denim, but I couldn’t find anything that fit me until I tried their Slim Straight jeans. And I love that they’re less than $40 a pair.”
“We originally launched this fragrance on a Monday and we were sold out by Wednesday,” says Brown of the latest Jones Road Beauty perfume that includes notes of neroli, orange blossom and sea spray. “For me, it is the ultimate pick-me-up. It’s a light, clean, universal scent that gives you the fresh feeling of having just stepped out of the shower.”
“For exercise, I love doing hip-hop [dance], and my instructor Lloyd Pearson has an online portal called Live With Lloyd, where you can take his classes from anywhere. The energy that this man has is infectious—every single person that meets him feels it.”
“I discovered this magic cream called the U Beauty Resurfacing Compound. And honestly, I have never found anything else that instantly transforms the dryness of my skin. I use it everywhere from my legs to my face and it’s miraculous.”
“I like to switch my glasses out, depending on my mood. I also get bored, so it’s fun to rotate between different colors and styles. My favorites are the Bixby frames by Caddis, but I also wear a lot of Warby Parker glasses.”
“When I get dressed, I like to start with a t-shirt. I discovered these tees from Baserange, and now I buy the black and nude colors in bulk. They’re a little sheer and very soft, so they’re the perfect undershirt, and they hold your tummy in a little if you get a slightly smaller size.”
“Jao Hand Sanitizer is my go-to and it’s actually what my makeup artists use before they touch anyone’s face. It comes in this pretty blue bottle and it smells amazing with notes of geranium, lavender, eucalyptus and sage. The best part is that it’s not drying at all.”
