Sartorial Shadows

The runways were aligned on one thing: Eyeshadow is back! At Sandy Liang, makeup artist Fara Homidi channeled “doll eyes” with colors pulled from the collection itself. While the fall and winter seasons typically usher in browns and burgundy shades, pastels will carry over from summer to fall, so keep your bright shadows out for the colder months.

Collina Strada traded inner eye highlight for inner eye color. The look was crafted by makeup artist Dick Page, who used Ilia Beauty’s new Eye Stylus Shadow Sticks in gold and olive green shimmer shades to create “little flashes of color on the inner corner of the eye” as decoration, he explains to Bazaar.

In the same vein, Pamella Roland sent models down the runway with matte, cloud-like skin and feminine pink cheeks.

Gloss Over

No-makeup-makeup was taken to greater heights when makeup artist James Boehmer created “just got out of the shower” makeup using Saie’s Glossybounce on the lids, lightly-curled lashes, and lips in a super-sheer pink shade for a natural sheen.
Gloss Over

One-Sided

It’s time to dust off your tail combs and side part skills because many designers, including Christopher John Rogers, defended the side part this season. At the CJR show, hairstylist Sonny Molina created a zig-zag part and a side bang, securing the style with Bumble and bumble’s Flexible Hold Hairspray.

Hairstylist Lacy Redway balanced a deep side part with tousled and textured hair at Prabal Gurung’s Fall/Winter 2025 runway show. To create volume at the root near the part, Redway used TRESemmé’s lightweight texture spray.
Shades of Gray

The runways featured a resurgence of cool-toned shadows–specifically airy, gray hues. At Tory Burch, Kendal gave a wash of gray across the lids, sans mascara or liner and against bare skin.

Vintage Glamour

Retro, high-fashion hair was major on the runways. At Anna Sui, models donned teased bouffant hair, courtesy of hairstylist Garren, who used R+Co Bleu’s thickening spray to add natural volume and its hairspray to keep the style in place.

The bigger the hair, the better was the theme of Christian Cowan’s Fall/Winter 2025 runway show. The designer sent ‘60s-meets-alien hair, with sky-high volume and flipped ends.
Wing It

The eyes had it this season, and for Ulla Johnson’s runway, Soleimani created a subtle wing just at the outer corner of the eye using Sisley’s black liner.
