The Nintendo Switch 2 bonanza has well and truly begun, with console pre-orders now live – and pre-order deals on two accessories you might want to get your hands on. Reliable online retailer ShopTo are offering 5 percent off the Switch 2 Pro Controller (now £71) and Switch 2 Piranha Plant Camera (now £33) when you use code SPRING.
The Switch 2 Pro Controller features a fetching two-tone grey and silver colour scheme, as well as programmable rear buttons, the new C-button that’s also on the Joy-Con, a 3.5mm jack, and what Nintendo calls ‘smooth-gliding sticks’ for responsive, smoother inputs.
It otherwise comes with a familar layout, with a pair of diagonally opposing analog sticks, as well as four main buttons and a D-Pad.
As for the Piranha Plant Camera, this is a special Mario-themed version of the new Switch 2 camera. The camera is new for this iteration of the console, which allows you to video call players when you’re using Game Chat – that goes for whether you’re playing the same game or not.
The pleasant thing here is its design, which comes courtesy of third-party manufacturer Hori, after Nintendo confirmed it was allowing third-party accessories manufacturers to come up with their own designs for the camera.
The pot of the Piranha Plant acts as both the stand and USB extension for the camera, while the part of the Piranha that houses the webcam is detachable to the point you can plant it directly onto the console if you wish. The mouth of the plant also closes to act as its privacy shutter – neat!
So, there you have it – two small but noteworthy reductions on what I suspect will be some seriously popular Switch 2 accessories when the console launches.
