Lexus continues to redefine the luxury compact SUV segment with the 2025 NX 350h, tested here in Luxury trim and fitted with Expansion Pack 2. It’s a premium yet practical choice, offering an enticing blend of sophistication, technology, and efficiency
The 2025 Lexus NX 350h carries forward Lexus’ signature spindle grille design, which gives the front end a bold and aggressive appearance. While it may seem oversized to some, it complements the sculpted sides, contributing to an athletic stance.
The rear mirrors the front’s styling but in a more subdued fashion, for a well-balanced look. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and features automatic LED headlights and high beam, with auto-levelling, as well as a rear spoiler and roof rails.
Stepping inside, the NX 350h impresses with a luxurious and modern cabin, that features a 9.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster. The former features wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto.

Satellite navigation, DAB+ digital radio, a 10-speaker sound system, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and keyless entry and start also feature. The comfortable front seats are heated (as are the door mirrors).
The front pews feature 10-way power adjustment for the driver and eight-way for the passenger, as well as two-way lumbar support. The Japanese car maker’s climate concierge setup is included, as well as two USB-C ports and a wireless phone charger.
The latter is part of the Enhancement Pack 2 we mentioned earlier, and also includes a tilt-and-slide sunroof and hands-free powered tailgate. Despite its compact size, the NX 350h offers adequate cargo space, with plenty of room for groceries or luggage.
60/40 folding rear seats enhances its versatility. Interior trims feature plenty of soft touch surfaces and premium materials too. Under the hood, the 2025 Lexus NX 350h hosts a 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain delivering a combined output of 179kW and 270Nm.

An electronically controlled CVT transmission delivers a smooth and responsive drive. Fuel economy is an impressive 5.0-litres/100km. Handling is outstanding on road, with a smooth road, and a suspension package that soaks up the bumps effortlessly.
The all-wheel drive (AWD) system provides confidence-inspiring traction in various driving conditions. Safety tech is impressive too, with a 5-star ANCAP coming thanks to the Lexus Safety System+, now at version 3.0.
It includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and a rear parking camera. Auto park assist is new for 2025, as is rain-sensing wipers.
Towing capabilities are modest at best, with just 1000kg braked. Priced at $85,395 drive away (as tested, with Sonic Chrome paint), the Lexus NX 350h is a compelling choice for those seeking a refined and fuel-efficient luxury SUV.

This car strikes an excellent balance between comfort, technology, and practicality. While its infotainment controls could be more intuitive, its efficiency and smooth ride more than compensate.
It comes with a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty, 5-years or 75,000km capped price servicing and 3-years roadside assistance. You can find out more on the Lexus Australia website. To see a great range of vehicles, check out OnlyCars.com.au.
