The Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance is already an insane, super-machine. Boasting 791 hp of max output and 1,055 lb-ft of peak torque, this AMG creation is a beastly plug-in hybrid luxury car. However, German tuner BRABUS has just transformed this beastly luxury sedan from Mercedes-Benz into an even more powerful monster that seamlessly fuses luxury and performance – the BRABUS 930.

The AMG S 63 E Performance offers both big torque and big luxury. It is essentially the peak S-Class, offering a level of performance that exceeds all other S-Class machines. However, the Brabus 930 simply offers more power output and torque, thanks to the modifications that the German tuner made particularly to the hybrid system’s V8 engine. As a result, the hybrid system now delivers superior levels of both output and torque.

Specifically, BRABUS had its power unit engineers and electronics specialists fit the V8 engine with two high-performance turbochargers, while thoroughly modifying the electronic engine controls. These modifications resulted in a surge of power output to 730 hp and a hike in torque to 723 lb-ft. Along with the 188 hp of output squeezed from the hybrid drive’s electric motor, the total system output now reaches 917 hp, while torque now maxes at 1,114 lb-ft.

In terms of quickness, the AMG S 63 E Performance can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds. The BRABUS 930, however, shaves 0.1 seconds off that time while increasing the electronically limited top speed to 180 mph.
