Gippy Grewal Shares Journey From Second-Hand Maruti To Buying His ‘Dream Car’ Worth Rs 1.40 Crore: I Coulnd’t Sleep…

Popular actor Gippy Grewal is making all the headlines currently with his latest release, Akaal: The Unconquered. The film released in theatres on April 10 and received positive reviews from critics but also landed in trouble over the portrayal of the Sikh community. According to the reports, Akaal was accused of hurting sentiments.

Gippy Grewal, in an interview, opened up about how he made his dreams come true with hard work and dedication. The actor-singer who used to fantasise about luxury cars owns many of them now and has proudly shared his story to inspire the youth today.

Gippy Grewal’s inspiring journey, from second hand vehicle to his dream car…

In a recent interaction with Mashable India, Gippy recalled his struggling days and said, “I have struggled a lot to get into this field. Everyone dreams of owning a car, and I was no different. Initially, we bought an old Maruti car, and then we managed to get an Indica car after great efforts, I was so excited that I couldn’t sleep, thinking about our new car. I am talking about the late 90s and early 2000s. Luxury cars like Mercedes and BMW were unimaginable back then.”

Further, he added, “For me, life is about living it to the fullest because we only get one chance. You earn, you live, and that’s it. When you’re gone, nothing stays with you. So, we had the Maruti, then the Indica, and when I started earning more, I bought another car, the BMW 740. It was a big deal in Punjab back then, especially since it was one of the first automatic cars.”

“I remember the backup camera and all the features. My driver would show it off to actor Jimmy Shergill. Then, I bought my dream car, a Range Rover Sport, which was a huge achievement for me. I was working hard, doing shows regularly, and films occasionally. I still remember buying a used Range Rover, about a year and a half old. My manager brought it from Delhi to Patiala, where I had a show.”

I was thrilled, didn’t drive it that day: Gippy

“I was exhausted that day, but when I saw the car, I was thrilled. I didn’t drive it that day, but the next day, I took it for a spin. There’s no doubt that earning something through hard work brings immense happiness. My family was overjoyed, and we even visited the Gurudwara Sahib to express our gratitude. That feeling of achieving something through hard work is indescribable. Back then, I knew nothing about cars, but I learned as I went along,” he concluded.

Coming back to Akaal, produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Bhumika Tewari of Dharma Productions along with Gippy Grewal and Ravneet Kaur Grewal of Humble Motions Pictures Fzco, Akaal also stars Nimrat Khaira, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Nikitin Dheer, Mita Vashisht, Shinda Grewal, Ekom Grewal, Jaggi Singh, Ashish Duggal, Bhana La, Harinder Bhullar, and Jarnail Singh.
