Benchmark stock market indices ended the trading session on a positive note, backed by strong gains across IT and auto shares.
The S&P BSE Sensex ended the trading session 376.26 points higher at 72,426.64, while the NSE Nifty50 settled 129.95 points higher at 22,040.70. The broader market indices also ended the trading session higher.
With this, the benchmark market indices have registered weekly gains as both the Sensex and Nifty rose roughly 1.2 per cent each.
