There’s so much choice when it comes to buying electric vehicles these days, and that’s only increasing in the future: from record-breaking supercars like the Rimac Nevera to efficiency-focused city runabouts like the Chevrolet Equinox EV, there is something for everyone. And for those who have a hefty amount of money to spend on higher-priced premium offerings, there’s still loads to choose from.

Rimac
Rimac Automobili was founded in 2009 by its namesake CEO, Mate Rimac, but the foundations for his electric vehicle company were laid in 2007 when Mate destroyed the engine in his E30 BMW 3 Series and decided to create an electric package to make it much faster. To cut a long story short, the Concept One was revealed in 2011, and its successor, the Nevera, is now the benchmark for hi-po EVs.

The plush Maybach EQS is currently the most expensive EV the German brand offers in the US, the vehicle starting from $179,900. For this, you get a powerful dual-motor EV powertrain and a thoroughly modern interior that combines luxury with a boatload of technology.
You can easily spend more than the base MSRP though, with options such as different colored leather and certain color trim requiring even more cash to secure. The Maybach Night package alone costs around $25,000, though it brings darker-colored trim pieces that give it a more commanding look. Before too long, you can easily clear the $200,000 mark with the EQS Maybach.

2025 Maserati GranCabrio Folgore

The tri-motor Maserati GranCabrio Folgore aims to create a fusion of Maserati’s racing prowess and a luxury sports coupe. With 751 hp on tap, the first part of this is nailed by the EV weapon. Unlike many EVs, the GranCabrio Folgore only costs a little more than its gas-powered predecessor, though $205,000 is still a stiff price to lay down on a new vehicle.
Over and beyond the base price, there is also the option to customize the interior and exterior aesthetics of the GranCabrio to better suit your individual character. Being a Maserati though, expect to pay tens of thousands more for the privilege.

What’s holding you back from buying your first electric vehicle?
The number of EVs on the market continues to grow with better products being produced as time goes by. There’s also a wider range of electric vehicles now, from sedans to trucks and SUVs. There are, however, challenges to owning one with worries about driving range and charging speed along with their higher price being the most-often cited reasons for now going electric. What’s holding you back from buying your first electric vehicle?

That said, extras like ventilated front seats and varying interior trims will cost you some extra coin, so make sure to keep track of the final cost when speccing it out. With its 1,000+ Overboost launch feature coming as standard though, who needs any other options? You can also opt for the Turbo GT with Weissach Package at the same price, which switches out some of the luxury elements for a more track-focused experience. We’ll have ours in purple.

Lucid is one of the newer manufacturers on the block, the brand electing to beat the established brands in the luxury EV space. Its biggest gun is the Air Sapphire sedan, a $249,000 luxury performance car that comes with a tri-motor powertrain that provides over 1,200 hp to its four wheels. It promises a sub-two-second sprint to 60 mph.
Refreshingly, unlike many other premium manufacturers in this space, the range-topping Sapphire gets every option included, no questions asked. This includes front seats that feature 18-way power adjustability and a massaging function, as well as Lucid’s advanced DreamDrive Pro driver assistance system. That said, the Sapphire does lack a bit of individuality, given it only comes with a single exterior and interior color choice.

2025 Cadillac Celestiq
Base MSRP: Around $340,000
Powertrain |
Dual-motor electric |
---|---|
Horsepower |

The new Cadillac Celestiq is a striking-looking vehicle, with its long and flowing back end making it look more like a high-end yacht than a luxury sedan. Given it starts from ‘around’ $340,000, you’d expect it to feel like one on the inside too. Luckily, advanced tech such as ClimateSense, which is Cadillac’s new climate control system that ensures each corner of the car can be subjected to different conditions, comes as part of the deal – and a promise from the brand that this luxury car ticks every box that warrants that name.

It’s pretty much impossible to climb higher up the luxury ladder with anything without the Spirit of Ecstasy sitting proudly on the hood. It’s pricing matches everything you’d expect from the brand.
It’s expertly constructed by Rolls-Royce’s team of engineers and coachbuilders, and features a wide range of customization to ensure every owner can express themselves the way they desire. With options like a gold-plated Spirit of Ecstasy, the Polished Stainless Steel package, and even lambswool floor mats, even “simple” models will exceed the starting price of $420,000 and hit the $500,000 mark before.

2025 Rimac Nevera

Powertrain |
Quad-motor electric |
---|---|
Horsepower |
1,877 hp |

The Rimac Nevera is one of the most fearsome hypercars in the world, with its quad-motor powertrain providing 1,877 hp and a 0-60 mph time of 1.74 seconds for its brave owner. This performance doesn’t come cheap though, with the Rimac starting from $2.2 million in the US. This price is demanded due to the high-tech construction methods used to build it (among other things), the vehicles coming with a carbon fiber monocoque and roof to help keep weight down and strength up.
It also comes with an elaborate active aero setup, which is designed to ensure it remains perfectly stable at high speeds. You also get a luxurious interior that soothes its user when the time for utilizing its fearsome powertrain is over. And, of course, exclusivity and status.
3
2025 Pininfarina Battista
Base MSRP: $2.25 million
Powertrain |
Quad-motor electric |
---|---|
Horsepower |
1,877 hp |
Torque |
1,726 lb-ft |
0-60 |
1.8 seconds |
Like its Croatian counterpart, the Nevera, the Pininfarina Battista is a quad-motor electric hypercar. It’s primarily designed to tear your face off through the bends, before planting it on the rear window thanks to its ballistic acceleration. It’s also an exquisitely-built Italian coupe that shares some of its design with the Nevera. The Battista is also equipped with hand-crafted seats and interior trim that can be tweaked at will by the customer which will naturally elevate pricing to extremes. There are also a fair few special editions of the model that have been built.
The Battista comes with a no-expense-spared infotainment and satellite navigation system, which can be used to ensure you can complete your track exploration process in record time. With its near-1,900 hp being transmitted between its four wheels, your $2.25 million investment will protect you when you decide to open the taps. Probably.
2
2025 Lotus Evija
Base MSRP: $2.3 million
Powertrain |
Quad-motor electric |
---|---|
Horsepower |
1,972 hp |
Torque |
1,257 lb-ft |
0-60 |

The Lotus Evija has proven to be a strange case, with Lotus having first promised owners would begin receiving its cars in 2020, though the date kept slipping. The first examples, which start from $2.3 million a piece (and is likely to already by a lot higher), finally started being delivered towards the end of 2024. This obscene amount of money will get you a 1,972 hp quad-motor powertrain, as well as a ton of customization options.

Base MSRP: $3.1 million

1,980 hp |
Torque |

The Aspark Owl is another plus-priced hypercar that has taken a long time to finally arrive. First shown off in 2017, the car finally started being delivered to its owners in 2024. With an MSRP of a cool $3.1 million, $1 million of which is demanded just for a deposit, the Owl is reserved for only the richest gearheads – and only of 50 of those at that. If you’re lucky enough to have bagged one, you could have opted for a full carbon-fiber body, which pushes the MSRP up to $3.75 million.
The Japanese hypercar gets a 1,980 hp quad-motor powertrain that hurls it to 60 mph in only 1.72 seconds, as well as a sculpted exterior that gives the impression of a missile rather than a car. Its interior is designed to be driver-focused, while the onboard computer features modes to allow the Owl to also take on wet and snowy surfaces. For gearheads wanting to give their bank accounts a good workout, look no further than the Aspark Owl, the most expensive EV currently on sale in the US.
