Cheer on our drivers and come join us at the finish line to have a chat with Pod Pointers and see our brand-new Solo 3S in public for the first time.

Exciting things are happening at the Brighton seafront on Saturday 22nd June with this year’s London to Brighton EV Rally. Showcasing all things EV, the rally is designed to celebrate and educate everyone on the benefits of electric vehicles. It’s guaranteed to be a lot of fun throughout the day, even if (in true British fashion) it rains.

Now in its 4th year, the rally is set to be bigger than before, with over 100 electric cars taking part. In fact, there are rumoured to be some unique EVs in attendance you may not expect to see – so keep your eyes peeled!

Of course, as Pod Point, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to sponsor the event alongside EDF. Our brand-new and solar-integrated Solo 3S charger will be making its first ever public appearance on our stand, come and take a look! The Solo 3S will also be powering this year’s EV Rally pace car, purely by solar power – how cool is that?

Our very own Pod Pointers will be taking part in the rally this year alongside several of our customers participating too, as they hit the road happy thanks to their Pod Point chargers. Look out for some new Pod Point decals we’ve had designed for the event, which will adorn the rally drivers’ vehicles and be difficult to miss.

We’ll also have a stall at the finish line on the seafront where we’ll be on hand to talk all things electric charging and hand out some goodies (if you’re lucky!). So why not come along and join in the festivities; wave at the passing vehicles, enjoy the seaside entertainment and learn all about EVs. And whether you own an EV or not, it’s going a great day out for all the family regardless!

So, what’s going on?

The rally participants will set off from London, Westminster between 7am and 8am on Saturday 22nd June, driving past iconic British landmarks like Big Ben and Westminster Bridge. If you watch the EV convoy go past, make sure to wave at our Pod Point employees and customers as they drive.

From London to Brighton, the EVs will cover around 58 miles, giving onlookers plenty of opportunities to spot the drivers on the route. In fact, there are well over 100 electric vehicles due to take part this year, including a few new cars, some converted classics, and even an electric lorry, making it the biggest year yet!

The first EVs are expected to cross the finish line at Madeira Drive, Brighton, around 11am, where we’ll be waving our flags and cheering them through. At the finish line will be an entire e-village, spanning across 2.5 miles of Brighton’s seafront, which is completely free to walk around. There, you’ll be able to watch some thrilling stunts, relax to some live music and grab some freebies along the way. And don’t forget to take some pictures for the ‘gram!

We’ll also be there until 4pm to demonstrate our brand-new and solar-integrated charger, the Solo 3S. It’s a great opportunity to talk to members of our team, so if you have any burning questions then don’t hesitate to pop over.

After 4pm, there will be an exclusive beach party for rally participants and ticket holders, where we’ll be celebrating the success of the day. After all, the organisers describe it perfectly: “It’s a celebration of innovation, sustainability and the undeniable thrill of electric mobility”.

So, what’s stopping you from planning a day trip down to Brighton on 22nd June and watching the rally take place? We promise it will be nothing short of spectacular.
