Amazon has dropped the price of an “amazing” garden gadget that provides hours of entertainment by giving users the chance to connect with nature.
The Netvue Birdfy Bird Feeder Camera currently has £68 off, bringing its price down from £199.99 to £131.99 in a limited time deal. This special bird feeder, which has a simple wire-free set up and easy filling with the removable roof design, is equipped with a built-in camera and motion sensor that sends a live feed straight to your phone – allowing you to see visitors to your garden up close in real time.
The Birdfy automatically records bird videos and notifies you when birds visit via an app, with features including night vision and two-way audio to listen to birdsong or deter unwanted guests. You can share the videos with friends and family through the app and take photos from the clips, making it a must-have addition to the garden that has earned rave reviews from families and nature lovers.
One shopper praised in a five-star review: “Great item all round. Very easy to setup and fix with the various fitting it comes with. Picture could be clearer but its does what it’s meant to. My and my son get lots of enjoyment from this and its good to get him interested in wildlife at an early age.”
Another raved: “A great way to get close to nature. Love the short video clips you get on the app that can be saved and edited or take stills from. Easy to set up and use. You get notifications when motion detected so quite a distraction! I cannot stress how absolutely amazing it is to watch our little feathered garden friends up close. It’s brilliant. Highly recommend!”
A third reviewer said: “I was bought this bird feeder as a Christmas gift by my husband and I’m thrilled with it. Watching the birds feeding was always special; seeing them up close on my phone via the camera is very special. I get a notification so I never miss a bird feeding. If you love birds then this is the feeder for you. Picture quality is something else. Definitely five stars from me.”
And someone else wrote: “What a great addition to our garden! The birds love it, and my family does too. Easy to assemble, remember to fully charge the camera before installing in the garden. You can share the camera so friends and family can access it too. Very clear pictures, you can video too. You can set the app up to receive notifications when there is any movement. Thoroughly recommend!”
While the bird feeder has earned an overall rating of 4.6 out of five stars so far based on 100 reviews from Amazon shoppers, one person complained that their app notifications were “inconsistent”, while a couple of people were disappointed that a Solar Panel for the camera is sold separately. Despite this, 79% of customers awarded it the full five stars, while a further 9% gave it four stars.
The current Amazon deal on the Netvue Birdfy makes it considerably cheaper than brand rival Bird Buddy, which retails at £299.99 at John Lewis – and in fact, the Birdfy beat the Bird Buddy to the number one spot in a review of the best bird feeder cameras by TechRadar. However, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option to start your birdwatching journey, Amazon is also currently offering the Bozily Smart Bird Feeder Camera for £59.49 in a Lightning Deal, although this has only received a dozen reviews from shoppers so far.
