Gurgaon: Thieves targeted parked cars of private company employees on Golf Course Road and stole laptops, earphones and wallets containing debit and credit cards by breaking windowpanes before fleeing the area.On Monday night, Preeti Sinha from Sector 49 had parked her car near Central Plaza in Sector 53, while Ankit Gupta from Sushant Lok 3 and Khushboo Dahiya from Sector 52 had parked their cars at Cult Gym near the Sector 55-56 Rapid Metro station on Golf Course Road, when the thieves struck them. Based on their complaints, police registered separate cases on Tuesday.In her complaint, Sinha said, “On Monday, between 7pm and 8pm, my car was parked in front of Central Plaza when someone broke the rear windowpanes and stole several items such as a company-issued HP EliteBook laptop, documents, AirPods, ID card, PAN card, Aadhaar card, One Plus 7 Pro mobile phone and a wallet containing Rs 3000 cash, two credit cards and two debit cards.”Gupta and Dahiya also filed complaints at the Sector 56 police station. In his complaint, Gupta alleged, “My laptop bag has been stolen. It contained a wallet with Rs 9,000 cash, a credit card, two debit cards, a driving licence, vehicle registration card, an IIT Alumni card, and a company-issued MacBook.” Dahiya in her complaint said someone broke into her car and stole a Macbook Air, wallet with Rs 1500 cash, two debit cards and two credit cardsThe police registered cases under IPC sections 379 (theft) and 427 (mischief and thereby causing damage to property of Rs 50 or above).

MEAs solution to OCI card issue put under consideration
An April 4 memorandum addressed revoked passports’ impact on OCI card applications. A corrigendum allows revocation certificates as surrender certificate alternatives for Indians from Portuguese territories. Bombay HC disposed of petitions on OCI card eligibility, involving the Foreigners Regional Registration Office, Mumbai. Passports Act Section 10 penalties were previously imposed.
