Channel 5 has called time on The Gadget Show, after 19 years.
The series, which first launched all the way back in 2004, saw presenters and guests introducing and trying out the latest gadgets in the tech world.
Its axing comes just months after its name was changed from its original long-running title to The Good Gadget Guide: Shop Smart, Save Money.
A new series, simply called Shop Smart, Save Money, will see former CBBC presenter Angelica Bell join the established Gadget Show host line-up.
Ortis Deley, Georgie Barrat, and Jon Bentley will continue to present the new show, which begins on September 29th at 7pm on Channel 5.
Old episodes of the series, which produced a total of 39 different seasons across nearly two decades on the air, will still be available on YouTube.
At the time of the name change, in June this year, loyal viewers of the series were unhappy, but the decision was defended by Channel 5 bosses.
‘While the latest series has proved popular, we acknowledge that there has been some negative feedback regarding the recent format change,’ a statement said.
‘We understand that change can sometimes be met with mixed reactions, and we appreciate the feedback we have received from our viewers.’
The statement continued: ‘The decision to transition to The Good Gadget Guide: Shop Smart, Save Money was made to appeal to the broadest possible audience.
‘[We wanted to] provide valuable insights and recommendations in the realm of technology. The world of gadgets is constantly evolving.
‘Our goal is to strike a balance that appeals to a diverse audience while staying true to our commitment of providing valuable and engaging content in the world of technology.’
Shop Smart, Save Money originally aired in 2018, but only broadcasted three episodes until it was later folded into The Gadget Show in June 2023.
Among its 19 years on air, The Gadget Show saw the presenters testing out new Formula 1 cars, children’s scooters, and the first touch-screen phones.
Watch Shop Smart, Save Money on Channel 5 from September 29.
