These small, gesture-based vibrations are called haptic feedback, and they make interactions with a device more immersive. This technology, however, isn’t limited to smartphones. It plays a crucial role in deep-sea exploration too and is a regular feature in gaming controllers. Stanford University has developed OceanOneK, a humanoid robot designed for underwater missions. What sets it apart is the advanced haptic feedback in its hands, allowing researchers to experience the sensation of touching objects on the ocean floor from a distance.
