WEST RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) – With spring in the air, Mother Nature is waking up, and Vermont’s amphibians are on the move.
Frogs and salamanders are, or will be, on the move soon, and it’s important to pay extra attention when behind the wheel.
In this week’s Wildlife Watch, Ike Bendavid spoke with Luke Groff, a herpetologist with the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, about what to look out for and how you can help.
Vermonters can contact organizations like Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center, The Hartford Salamander Team, and North Branch Nature Center to learn more about coordinated amphibian crossing programs across the state.
