Emergency services received multiple 999 calls after the victim was attacked by the hound at an address on Wexford Road at 12.15pm today (Mon). The woman, aged in her 30s, was “rapidly removed” from the property by police and paramedics before being treated at the scene. However, despite the best efforts of medics she was pronounced dead a short time later as a result of her catastrophic injuries. The dog – which is not believed to be a banned breed – was seized by police and the death has been reported to a coroner.
