The Biden administration’s proposed budget would raise taxes on corporate jets to help improve air traffic around the country.

Separately, it would allow local transit agencies to use federal funds to avert looming fiscal problems and maintain spending on highway and bridge construction, according to documents released Monday.

The proposed budget for fiscal 2025 would increase spending at the Department of Transportation to about $109 billion, up from the approximately $106 billion that Congress approved for fiscal 2024 in this month’s spending deal. It would continue the spending levels for road, bridge and other construction projects set by the 2022 bipartisan infrastructure law.

While it’s unlikely to pass Congress intact, the fiscal 2025 plan shows the administration’s priorities for the transportation sector.
