There are several different private jet manufacturers spread across the world. However, many of these private jet manufacturers only focus on a small portion of the overall business aviation market. The market is broken up into several different sizes. These sizes include very light, light, midsize, super-midsize, heavy, and ultra-long-range.
For example, Cessna creates several business jet variants, but the company’s offerings only cover the light to super-midsize market. Pilatus only offers a light business jet, and HondaJet only offers a very light business jet. Embraer has similar business jet offerings to Cessna, ranging from the very light to the super-midsize market. On the reverse side, Bombardier only offers jets in the larger half of the industry, covering the super-midsize to ultra-long-range market. Gulfstream and Dassault cover business jet markets similar to Bombardier. Do you see any of these major private jet manufacturers breaking into a different market in the future? For example, Cessna working toward an ultra-long-range offering, or Gulfstream dropping into the light business jet market.
