Mark Zuckerberg is one of the most famous celebrities on the planet. Founder of Facebook, billionaire at 23, and the second-richest person in the world as of March 2025, Zuckerberg has achieved fame on a level that few can match.
Zuckerberg has earned an unimaginable level of wealth, and has purchased some truly extravagant items, such as a Pagani hypercar, several multi-million-dollar properties, and a $200 million yacht. He is also known to be the owner of a 2021 Gulfstream G650ER
, registered as N68885. Its a jet that has received a great amount of coverage for its costs and excess.

However, what hasn’t received as much coverage is the status of another jet, registered as N3880. This plane is a Gulfstream G700
, manufactured in 2024. Public information about this plane is limited, and there is no official confirmation that Zuckerberg has any affiliation with the jet. When you start to connect the dots, however, the links seem almost certain.

How to know if this plane is his?
Jack Sweeney is a programmer who, during his education at the University of Central Florida, developed a program for tracking jets owned by public figures. Born in 2002, he tracked jets owned by names such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Drake, and many more.
However, despite all the data that he uses already being public information, he’s faced public criticism from many of the famous individuals that he’s traced, and has even had his ElonJet Twitter account suspended. His Mark Zuckerberg tracking bot is active on another website, Bluesky.

It was Sweeney who first reported that the newly constructed N3880 belonged to Mark Zuckerberg. While it may seem odd to make such a decisive conclusion without an official confirmation, the connections are strong.
- Both N3880 and N68885 feature the same livery, a blue and white combination that strongly resembles Facebook’s brand colors.
- Both aircraft have the same FAA-registered owner, A7P Trust Co Inc Trustee.
- Both planes are operated by Solairus Aviation, flying with a TWY callsign.
- Both jets primarily operate out of San Jose and Monterey, in California.
Records do not indicate any changes of ownership regarding the G650ER, which continues to see heavy use. As such, this means that Mark Zuckerberg owns two planes simultaneously.
Unless there is another ultra-wealthy individual residing in the same area who has the same taste in aircraft liveries and aircraft operator, it can be concluded that Zuckerberg no longer has just a private jet, but rather, a small fleet.
Why keep this concealed
Private jets are simply bad publicity in today’s world. While there are measurable benefits for executives to use private aircraft, such as time savings and direct routings that aren’t flown by airlines, this is usually given less importance by the public. Instead, attention is focused on the high cost of flying private as well as the environmental impact.

While aircraft like the modern Gulfstream G700 are very efficient for their category and are also typically smaller than commercial jets, these planes only carry a handful of passengers at most. An Airbus A319
on the other hand, a popular airliner that’s only slightly bigger than the Gulfstream, can have a configuration seating between 130 and 150 passengers.

As such, even if the older and heavier airliner burns more fuel, the impact is spread among many more people, thereby minimizing each person’s emissions, not even taking into account that these huge planes are often used for flights far shorter than their advertised range.

Mark Zuckerberg’s reputation
While Mark Zuckerberg is very well-known, he’s not exactly well-liked. He and his company have been engaged in controversy after controversy regarding data privacy, while he’s also come under attack for the alleged spread of political misinformation on his social media platforms.
Advertising that he purchased a second polluting private jet would likely only sully his image further, and that’s not even taking into account the price. The Gulfstream G700 can cost upwards of $80 million, an eye-watering price for an individual to spend on a mode of transport, not to mention the high operating costs of using this plane.
Whether its fair or not to critique how a billionaire chooses to spend their money, an unpopular individual spending $80 million on a second plane would only invite more public criticism. Therefore, its not difficult to figure out why information about his brand-new jet is scarce. What isn’t scarce, however, is information about the G700 itself.
How the G700 carries on the torch
Zuckerberg’s original plane, N68885, is a Gulfstream G650ER. Since its introduction in 2009, the G650 has been the flagship of Gulfstream’s lineup, representing the best of what the company could achieve in the business aviation world, all coming with an eye-watering price tag. The G650ER came in 2014 as an upgraded model, retaining the luxury and performance of the original while adding 500 nm (900 km) of range.
Gulfstream, however, decided the G650 wasn’t good enough still, and launched the G700 as well as the G800 at the end of the 2010s. Variants of the G650, these two new planes occupy distinct spaces at the high-end of Gulfstream’s lineup.

The G800 is sized as the direct replacement for the G650ER, retaining the same fuselage while introducing a host of design improvements to achieve its 8,000 nm (15,000 km) range, almost as much as an Airbus A350-900
. The G700, meanwhile, takes the G650ER’s spiritual place as the king of the hill in Gulfstream’s extensive offering of business jets.
Exterior changes
Both the Gulfstream G700 and G800 retain the same fuselage design as the G650. Whereas the G800 also retains the same length, the G700 is stretched by around 10 ft (3.8 m) to create the largest Gulfstream ever made.
Meanwhile, a modified wing, redesigned winglets, and brand-new Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 turbofans help make the G700 more efficient and more capable.
Changes on the inside
The fuselage stretch allows Gulfstream to offer up to five customizable living zones. While the cabin can be configured to seat up to 19, most layouts will usually seat slightly less, with sleeping available for up to 13 passengers.

A grand suite is offered with a proper bed, while an optional crew rest allows for augmented operations to take advantage of the G700’s incredible range. Also offered are a couch, video displays, conference tables, and a host of Gulstream’s signature leather chairs.
The cabin is 100% purified and has the lowest cabin altitude of any business jet, while the whisper-quiet Rolls-Royce engines make conversing inside the G700 as easy as inside a house. The spacious cabin ensures that the 5′ 7″ Mark Zuckerberg should never feel claustrophobic, and the G700 features 20 of Gulfstream’s panoramic oval windows, which can be shut electronically.

An advanced flight deck
Gulfstream calls it the Symmetry. Originally debuting on the GVII family, the Symmetry flight deck is a massive upgrade from the cockpit of the G650. For years, flight decks have all essentially looked the same, a functional display of screens and more buttons than a person can count. Symmetry, however, is a clean design focused on moving as many functions as possible to the screens, optimizing the modest size of the cockpit, and doing it all in style.
Over a dozen displays populate the G700’s flight deck, and the aircraft has the most extensive use of touchscreen technology of any civilian plane. The Head-Up Display keeps the eyes of the pilots outside, while critical information is presented in an orderly arrangement.
New to the G700 is the Combined Vision System (CVS), which combines the Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) and Synthetic Vision System (SVS) to offer even better situational awareness.

A worthy successor
Mark Zuckerberg does not need a private jet, nor does he need two, at least from the public’s perspective. When shopping for business aircraft, however, buyers have a set of needs far different from what most people can imagine. For those who want the absolute best of the best in private aviation, the Gulfstream G700 is just that.
This huge executive plane offers the latest in technological advancements, while able to outclimb and outrun any airliner. Most of all, while the altitude outside might be higher than what a 777 might experience, the altitude inside is far lower and cleaner.
This is achieved while offering the finest in extravagant materials and fine craftsmanship, with a heavy focus on comfort as well, with the pilots up front experiencing the future of aviation.
