The Hollywood celebrity owns one of the most luxurious Gulfstream jets that has a highly customizable cabin, luxury interior, and a range of amenities. The Gulfstream IV is part of the family of twinjet business aircraft, designed for long-haul travel. Introduced to service in 1985, the aircraft’s operating range and cruising speed make it suitable for long-range travel, enabling non-stop flights across long distances. Two Rolls-Royce Tay 611 turbofan engines power the aircraft, each producing 13,850 lbf (62 kN) of thrust at takeoff.

Gulfstream Aerospace G-IV Gulfstream

Developed from its predecessor, Gulfstream III, the G-IV has a redesigned wing structure that reduces structural weight and aerodynamic drag during flight. Modifications to the outbound wing, including the wingtips, were aimed at reducing lift-induced drag at high angles of attack. Lift-induced drag is generated as a byproduct of wingtip vortices. The highly efficient winglets minimize the effects of wingtip vortices, enhancing the aircraft’s fuel performance and range.

These characteristics make the Gulfstream highly fuel-efficient and reliable during flight. Passengers, including Tom Cruise, equally cherished the large cabin, ensuring they received the utmost comfort. Gulfstream delivered over 900 examples of the G-IV across various variants between 1985 and 2018.
