Astronomy-focused travel or astrotourism is all the rage this spring, largely thanks to the total solar eclipse that is expected to pass over much of the United States on April 8. However, travellers don’t need to stop there, as the Four Seasons Private Jets are ready to whisk you off for more celestial-inspired adventures.
In case you are unfamiliar with the Four Seasons Private Jet trips, let us introduce you to the utmost in luxury-meets-adventure travel.
Since 2015, Four Seasons private jet tours have taken guests around the world and back again to see everything from remote landscapes to bumping cities, must-see sights, and exclusive restaurants. Now, via its Ancient Explorer and Uncharted discovery itineraries, the company is looking to take guests on astrotourism-inspired trips to remember, too.
Over 24 days, from May 12 to June 4, the Four Seasons jet will take guests to 10 destinations to experience spots tied to the stars above with the Ancient Explorer trip. The trip departs from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and makes its way to Mexico City. Here, guests will have the chance to board a hot air balloon in the wee hours of the morning for a ride over the archaeological complex Teotihuacan to see the moon set and the sun rise behind the ancient city that’s believed to have been founded in 400 BC.

Next, guests head off to Easter Island, where they will visit the ceremonial site of Ahu Tongariki, home to 15 Moai. Then, they’ll jet off to Bora Bora to swim in the crystalline sea around their own private island before departing to the Great Barrier Reef to view even more spectacular waters below and supremely dark skies above.
Travellers on this journey will also stop in Bangkok; Amman, Jordan; the Lost City of Petra in Jordan; the Pyramids in Egypt; land in Athens; and finally close the trip in Madrid.
But, for an even more in-depth look at the stars, travellers should consider booking the Uncharted Discovery trip, as it comes with the chance to literally taste space.
During the 21-day trip, which runs from November 30 to December 20, guests will stop in Costa Rica, where they will stay at the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo. Here, they’ll have the opportunity to look through the resort’s GPS-guided telescope and dine on a menu created in collaboration with Costa Rican astronaut Franklin Chang Diaz.
What’s so special about the menu? It includes sipping on Chilean Meteorito cabernet sauvignon, a wine aged with an actual meteorite. Before departure, the staff at the hotel will assist guests in capturing images of the moon through the telescope so they have a little something to remember the trip by — though the bragging rights of “I drank wine made with meteors” should suffice.
