A wedding guest has shared how an ‘entitled’ mum and daughter went behind a bride’s back to invite 20 extra people to her wedding so the little sister ‘wouldn’t get bored’
When it comes to planning a wedding, most brides spend hours going over every detail to make sure their special day goes off without a hitch. But, unfortunately for them, they cannot guarantee everything will go according to plan, as mistakes happen and their guests have their own free will.
That’s exactly what one bride came to learn when 20 children allegedly turned up to her wedding without her knowledge. Taking to Reddit, a guest said: “The bride found out at the reception that her mother and little sister colluded to invite 20 or so of the sister’s friends so she ‘wouldn’t get bored.’ They did this by lying about RSVPs.”
Not having any of it, the bride is said to have thrown them all out and tried to put the incident out of her mind so it didn’t spoil her day. The guest added: “The bride didn’t go completely scorched earth, though I wouldn’t fault her if she had.”
Commenting on her post, one user joked: “Well, at least the little sister wasn’t bored.” Another user added: “My sister told me I should invite her best friend to my wedding so she wouldn’t get bored since I was inviting her parents anyway (our families have been super close since my sister and their daughter were 5).

“I knew she was mostly joking but reminded her that if I invited one kid of the family friends, I’d then have to invite all the kids of our family friends and that was far too many people for my budget. My sister got married two months later and so understood my concerns. (Plus we’re pretty tight with our cousins and her fiance-now-husband was there, so boredom was unlikely).”
The guest went on to share another story about ‘entitled people’ she’s encountered at weddings – and explained how one sister’s jealousy almost spoilt her sister’s big day. She said: ” Younger Sister was in her mid-20s. The older sister was 30 and had been with her boyfriend for a decade.
“Older flipped when Younger got engaged, and criticized every planning choice. Older then pressured her boyfriend to propose, then copied everything Younger planned, but designer version. Older was shocked when her bridesmaids refused to spend $800 on gowns, have the bridal party at an international location, etc.”
