One groom was left feeling like his “heart was ripped” from his chest when his match ‘done a runner’ before their wedding day. Michael, 34, had been gearing himself up for his big day.
The 34-year-old sales executive had an unexpected knock on the door from relationship expert John Aiken. “It’s highly unusual for me to come and visit a participant but I have some really disappointing and shocking news,” he explained.
He continued: “After the bucks and hens night your match Simon decided to send us an email saying he no longer wanted to be a part of the experiment,” as Michael looked at him speechless.
Married at First Sight Australia saw two new couples tie the knot, however Michael would need to wait to find his perfect match as the expert explained they are doing everything ‘in their power’ to find him true love.
Michael said: “That’s definitely a hard blow,” before pausing. “I feel like someone just ripped my heart out my chest,” as John reassured him. “I don’t want you to take this personally. Your match couldn’t cope with the experiment and pressures on them.”
John continued: “It was absolutely devastating but we as the experts have not lost hope. We are now looking closely at new matches. There are no guarantees we will find your forever someone but what I can confirm is we are all committed right now to trying.”
“Hold on and don’t give up hope, we certainly haven’t,” he added.

Jayden appeared to slam his brother Mitch as being ‘nothing like one another’ as he referred to his siblings time on the show which caused controversy. Mitch had constantly erupted in arguments towards bride Ella on camera.
The sportsman said: “He’s my brother I love him but when it comes to relationships we are very different, people assume,” Jayden said before rounding off examples. “I have trust issues and I’m a smart a*** like him or I have commitment issues.”
“People think I have a tough exterior but I am misunderstood. I am romantic deep down, I want to come home to snuggles and back tickles,” he joked.
