Hear ye, hear ye, a(nother) posh royal adjacent wedding is forthcoming. Prince Harry and Prince William’s mutual friend Hugh Grosvenor, the 7th Duke of Westminster, is getting married on June 7, and there’s been speculation that the event could reunite the estranged brothers. Buuuut apparently not.
In December of last year, The Times reported that Hugh wasn’t going to invite the Sussexes, and spoke to a mutual friend who said “It’s incredibly sad it has come to this. Hugh is one of very few close friends of William and Harry’s who has maintained strong bonds and a line of communication with both. He wishes they could put their heads together and patch things up, but realizes it’s unlikely to happen before the wedding.”
Meanwhile, Page Six claimed that Harry *had* gotten a Save-the-Date but “declined” to attend the event. A source told them that “Harry actually got a ‘save the date’ card a few months ago but called Hugh and said it would be too awkward if he and Meghan Markle attended, so he made his apologies and Hugh understood.”
