A KFC-loving bride and groom have tied the knot in an $80,000 Kentucky Fried Chicken-themed wedding — complete with a grazing table featuring popular menu items.
Brian Tran, from Cabramatta in southwest Sydney, got down on one knee with an onion ring to ask his now-wife Thanh Huynh to marry him in a finger lickin’ proposal.

The couple exchanged their vows in front of close family and friends at the Sydney Opera House on February 14 after they won an all expenses paid for KFC wedding package worth $80,000.
The Colonel pulled out all the stops to make it a day to remember, with the pair cutting into a KFC bucket-shaped wedding cake, and personalised fried chicken buckets for guests.
“Our KFC-themed wedding was an absolute blast, and having KFC play a big role made it unforgettable,” the newlywed couple said.
“Sharing the day with our closest friends and family made it extra special, and we’re so grateful for the love and laughter everyone brought to our wedding.
“Our entrance as a married couple to the reception was marked by a dance with custom KFC buckets — a moment that truly set the tone for the entire night.
“It was hands down the most incredible day of our lives.”
The couple — who met at university on the Gold Coast — knew they wanted a KFC-themed wedding after Thanh spotted the fast food chain’s wedding package competition on social media in November.
Determined to win, the pair took the day off work to film a sweet marriage proposal using an onion ring.
“I was scrolling Instagram and found the competition. I pretty much though, I have to enter this, I’ve got to try. Brian loves KFC and I love him so we went for it,” Thanh tells Sunrise.
“We weren’t expecting to win… and we won. It was meant to be.”
The pair have been huge KFC fans for as long as they remember, with Brian’s dream being to visit a KFC in every country around the world and to try all the different international menus.
Thanh and Brian were named the winners of KFC Weddings on January 31.
“We had two weeks to work with a team to make the wedding our special day with KFC alongside it,” Thanh says.
As for the guests’ dietary requirements, the couple were able to make everything work.
“I have a few relatives and friends who are vegan and we were able to fuse the KFC wedding with our Asian traditions so we had an Asian banquet alongside KFC,” Thanh says.
The day started with an intimate ceremony at the Sydney Opera House before enjoying a KFC picnic on Bennelong Lawn and a spectacular reception at Cabra-Vale Diggers.
Guests were treated to a grazing table featuring KFC’s iconic fried chicken, Popcorn Chicken, mashed potato and gravy, coleslaw, nuggets and fries.
The Colonel’s final touch was the all-important bouquet bucket toss.
“We know the special role that KFC has played in so many couples’ love stories, so what could go better together than our fried chicken and a wedding,” Tami Cunningham, CMO at KFC Australia, said.
“We’re delighted to see Thanh and Brian get married and celebrate their love with their friends, family and bucket loads of Kentucky Fried Chicken, and hope it’s a day they will remember for the rest of their lives together.”
