The week before the proposal
Filip knew that Stella was ‘the one’ from early on but in the week spent apart before Final Vows, he spoke to his parents, who’ve been together for 40 years, for some advice.
“They looked at me and my dad was like ‘Of course this is your person. If not her, then who?’
“They could see my energy when I was with her and just saw that I was better with Stella.”

The ring
With his parents reaffirming what he already knew to be true, Filip spent the week organising the ring.
Throughout the experiment, Filip had tried to cryptically ask Stella what she liked but didn’t get a definitive answer.
“I just picked something nice. I don’t know anything about rings so I looked around, saw one and thought ‘that’s the one’. I didn’t want to overthink it.”
Filip proposed to Stella with a stunning elongated cushion diamond on a simple gold band.
In what ended up being a beautiful coincidence, the ring Filip bought Stella ended up resembling one on her vision board.
The proposal
With all the organisation over, when it came to the day before the proposal, Filip admitted nerves completely took over.
“I didn’t know what Stella was thinking. I understand we were caught up in the experiment. I didn’t want her to think that I was just doing it just because. I wanted her to know it was genuine,” Filip said.

Stella admitted she was not expecting Filip to propose at Final Vows, for her it was enough to take their relationship into the outside world.
When Filip got down on one knee, Stella initially thought Filip was pranking her.
“I thought he was doing the shoelace prank but then I realised he’s not and I was like ‘OK this is happening!’
“I burst into tears as per usual. It felt like the world just dissolved.”
The moments after Stella said ‘yes’
In the hours after the proposal, Stella and Filip called his parents with the good news and they celebrated in person with Stella’s best friends for dinner.
“We had a really good night, had good food, went to a jazz bar dancing and drinks,” Filip recalled.
Stella and Filip’s engagement party plans
While nothing is set in stone, Stella and Filip discussed having an engagement party aboard a charter boat with a very sentimental meaning.
“It’s where our last date happened,” Filip shared.
“It’s on a boat. It fits 80 people. It’s intimate. You can get DJ decks on there, you can jump off. So 80 people, on a boat, tunes good vibes!”
What’s not to love about that!?

Overseas wedding bells
With the whole country getting a front row seat to their first televised wedding, Stella and Filip hope to have a more intimate nuptials the second time around.
Stella and Filip said they’d likely tie the knot in Croatia, as Filip’s family has Croatian heritage while Stella’s family in Lithuania would be able to fly to be there.
“Stella’s family could be there which would be amazing, and I have immediate family here in Australia but everyone else is overseas so it works out better,” Filip said.
The pair hope to marry in the month of July on the anniversary of their MAFS wedding.
”It would be peak summer in Europe. We have to look into it more but it’s 100 per cent happening!”

Life after MAFS and parenthood
After the romantic proposal, Filip did a “full factory reset”, moving from Port Melbourne to Cronulla.
“Everything is changing. I’ll do different work, some online work, further studies. My background is in construction which I can always go back to,” Filip said.
Stella’s beauty business has remained the same, but Filip said everything in Sydney has been “fresh and exciting”.
While there’s still a wedding to tick off, Stella and Filip have discussed kids in their future.
“At one point in my life I realised I can go with or without kids so whatever happens, happens,” Stella said.
Filip was on the same page saying “if it’s my path I’d love to be a dad”.
“We don’t want to make decisions to a certain. I think it will just happen naturally.”
Whatever Stella and Filip decide, the both agreed their “genes would make really cute babies”.
