A Northumberland wedding venue has opened a new wellbeing retreat in a Grade-II listed barn.
Previously a post office, The Barn at Brinkburn still has a functioning post box which stands as a reminder of its past. However, owners are now looking to the future, with their ambition to attract a wellbeing community to the heart of Northumberland and reposition Brinkburn as a retreat venue.
The historic Coquetdale building has been re-designed for wellness residential retreats and workshops, and aims to offer a blend of “modern deign and rustic charm”. Its upstairs space is designed for mat work and sitting workshops, while downstairs is for fitness training, meetings and or practical workshops.
Brinkburn, which is also home to a number of holiday cottages, is operated by husband and wife team Mark and Emma Fenwick, who opened up the business in 2011. Since then, countless people have got hitched at the site and they have even introduced helicopter weddings to Northumberland.
Mark Fenwick, owner of Brinkburn Northumberland said he was thrilled to introduce the barn as the newest addition to the estate. He added: “With its unique design and serene surroundings, we believe the renovated Barn will attract a community dedicated to holistic wellbeing.”
