Princess Beatrice has officially been hailed as the ‘best dressed in Britain’ as part of Tatler’s best-dressed list for 2024. The 35-year-old Royal has certainly made her mark with her own style over the years.

Despite previously going viral for her quirky hats over the years – particularly at Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding back in 2011 for which she was at the brunt end of online memes- it appears she has come out on top.

The society bible praised Beatrice for being “a beacon of sartorial elegance” according to reports in the Mail by “pairing vintage-inspired cuts with fresh-from-the-catwalk glamour”, although it did note she was the “subject of much jest” for the Philip Treacy hat.

Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie are said to have been left in tears over articles at the time, which poked fun at their hats for the Royal wedding. However the sisters, daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, have transformed their style over the years.

Alongside refreshing her wardrobe over the last year, Beatrice has made most use of her timeless accessories and wardrobe essentials and appears to have became quite the style icon.

A huge part in this shift is thanks to her newly found confidence with upmarket fashion brands. Labels such as Self Portrait, Beulah and The Vampire’s Wife are taking centre stage alongside international labels Reem Acra, based in New York, and Monique Lhuillier on the West Coast.

The Princesses move towards high fashion marked a notable shift in her every day style and appearance at Royal engagements, by casting aside the quirky headpieces and colours for a more streamlined touch.

Since turning 30 five years ago, Princess Beatrice has gradually found where her fashion lies and is recognised for her elegant yet flattering outfits. Credit is due to her stylist, Olivia Buckingham, who also advises Poppy Delevingne and Nicky Hilton.

The Beulah Sienna dress featured dramatic puff sleeves and accentuated her petite waist with a wide belt for King Charles’s Coronation. Whilst she still loves a hair accessory, she appears to have toned it down so the dress or outfit takes centre stage.
