The new Fly 72 yacht from the Italian manufacturer Azimut, the latest addition to their iconic Flybridge Series, combines both the traditional and the avant-garde.
At last year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, Azimut made waves with the unveiling of their new Fly 72 model, the latest addition to their iconic Flybridge series and one of the most anticipated luxury yachts at the event. This 72-foot vessel boasts the design talents of two prominent Italians. Alberto Mancini, a renowned yacht designer, crafted the exteriors, while the illustrious architect Fabio Fantolino makes his debut in the nautical sector with the interiors.
Alberto, known for designs that epitomise Azimut’s heritage, introduces evident clean lines to the new Fly 72, emphasising the sculptural tension characteristics of the model. Conversely, Fabio renders the insides of the craft according to his distinctive style; a traversal stylistic approach aimed at seeking the perfect harmony between elegance, design, and technique. This is evident in his use of materials such as bronze and glossy lacquers, as well as shapes that balance linearity and softness.
The Fly 72 is powered by two 1400 mHP MAN CR V12s that allow the yacht to cruise at a speed of up to 26 knots and reach a top speed of 31 knots. It features Carbon-Tech Generation in which carbon fibre lamination lightens its components by up to 30 percent and reduces natural roll momentum by up to 15 percent – all the while maintaining dynamic stability and handling. Highlighted features include active trim control, integrated monitoring system, and automatic fuel transfer e-pump.
The Fly 72 joins Azimut’s other new international models released in 2023, the Magellano 60 and Verve 48, all of which will duly impress enthusiasts of maritime excellence.
