Rod Stewart has whisked his family away to Sardinia on board a luxury £50m super yacht on which his wife Penny Lancaster has been sunning herself in a barely there bikini
Penny Lancaster looked sensational sporting a tiny black bikini on board a £50m yacht with her husband, Rod Stewart, on Wednesday.
The Sailing star, 79, has whisked his huge family away to the Italian island of Sardinia as they make the most of the sun-kissed scenery. Mum-of-two Penny stripped off into her tiny two-piece as she partied on the deck of the super yacht along with Rod, who looked somewhat more conservative with a towel on his head, sporting a canary yellow shirt and multi-coloured shorts. Penny later swapped her bikini for a floral print cover-up as the family hopped on a dinghy to head to shore.
Joining the special constable and the singer on the gorgeous getaway are six of Rod’s eight children, as well as his baby grandson Otis and several of his kids’ partners. The blended family took to Instagram this week to share some sweet snaps from the idyllic holiday,
One special shot showed Penny and Rod playing with one-year-old Otis on the boat, as the little boy laughed contentedly. The couple – who married in 2007 – were joined by their two sons Alastair Wallace, 18, and Aiden Patrick, 13, as well as Alastair’s girlfriend Eloise Darlington, 18.
Joining them were Kimberly, 44, and Sean, 43, — Rod’s two children from his marriage to actress Alana Stewart. While his daughter from his relationship with model Kelly Emberg and Otis’ mother Ruby, 36, was there with her fiancé Jake Kalic.
With a glittering career spanning 60 years, music icon Rod would be well entitled to hang up his microphone. However, the Scottish star is showing now signs of slowing down, with Penny revealing he will “never retire”.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Rod said he still has a huge zest for life, like his contemporary Tom Jones, who recently revealed he will keep singing as long as his voice allows him to. Talking about his own future, Rod said: “I don’t see any possibility of slowing down anytime soon.”
Penny confirmed: “He loves what he does so much and will never retire.” The Loose Women star also explained the effort it takes to gather their blended family and she said: “We like to take every opportunity to bring the family, children, and grandchildren together. Part of the family lives in America, part in England, so it requires a lot of planning, but at least two or three times a year, the whole clan comes together.”
She added: “There are the usual family ups and downs. You have to use a lot of diplomacy, be patient and understanding. In the end, it’s worth it because you experience this wonderful bond that only a family can have. The epicentre of it is ultimately Rod: he’s the Rodfather.”
