Spirit Yachts – based at Ipswich Haven Marina – wants to boost its 41-strong workforce by adding another seven to the team by the end of the summer.

It follows a host of new orders worth a total of more than £10m for its highly-crafted wooden yachts which are much sought after in the maritime world.

Its new orders are for Spirit sail and motor yachts including two new P50s, an R53 race yacht, and a C78 sailing yacht.

Managing director Karen Underwood said  they were always looking for a pipeline of new talent to join their world-class team.

“With a healthy order book and a full yard, we are steadily growing to meet demand,” she said.

(Image: Spirit Yachts) The company is inviting individuals interested in careers across boatbuilding, cabinet making, finishing, engineering, electrics, design, and naval architecture to visit the yard, meet the team, and explore potential opportunities.

Spirit Yachts’ recruitment open day takes place at its yard on Friday, June 6, from 10am to 4pm.
