Heesen Yachts has launched Serena, a 55-meter superyacht project-managed and sold by Arcon Yachts Monaco. The construction of Serena began in the spring of 2022, with the owners collaborating closely with Heesen’s engineers and Luca Dini’s Design and Architecture team to customize the yacht according to their preferences. The owners, experienced in yachting, aimed to create a comfortable and homely interior for extended stays on board.Serena’s interior design focuses on comfort and practicality, with special attention given to seating arrangements and the use of luxurious yet user-friendly materials. The yacht’s layout was optimized by Arcon’s team, particularly highlighting the bars on the main deck and skylounge. The atrium, a standout feature of Serena, spans three decks and is adorned with hand-blown glass and hand-sculpted metal light fixtures by John Pomp, creating a distinctive atmosphere. The interior design is inspired by Alvar Aalto’s principle that “beauty is the harmony of purpose and form.” Light woods, smoked eucalyptus, bronze metal accents, soft fabrics, and leather are used throughout to create a warm, inviting environment. The use of Amazonite marble inlays adds elegant touches, while chevron-patterned wood panels enhance the sense of space in the atrium and lobbies. The yacht’s main saloon is divided into three areas, with a fully equipped bronze-finished bar serving both the main deck aft terrace and the lounge area, ensuring a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. The Sky Lounge serves as the social hub, featuring a hammered bronze bar, a custom games table, and ample seating for entertainment.Serena also includes a beach club designed to resemble a waterside salotto, with natural light filtering through glass portholes. The yacht’s sauna features a larger glass door and refined wood finishes. The 110-square-meter sun deck offers flexible furniture arrangements, providing various hospitality options and a forward seating area ideal for enjoying views while cruising. The yacht accommodates 12 guests across five cabins. The owners’ quarters, located on the main deck forward, include a lounge, office space, a full-beam cabin with a veranda, walk-in closets, and a spacious bathroom. The lower deck houses four guest staterooms, each with en-suite bathrooms featuring unique marble designs. The bridge deck includes a gym that can be converted into a cabin if needed. The tender and toys are stored on the main deck forward, ensuring easy access for the crew without disturbing guests.Heesen Project Manager Eric Molegraaf highlighted the smooth collaboration between the owners and the shipyard, crediting the owners’ clear vision and experience at sea. Richard Kaye of Arcon Yachts Monaco expressed satisfaction with the project, noting that Serena is the second yacht in Heesen’s 55-meter class they have sold and managed. He emphasized the yacht’s ability to combine a proven platform with personalized design elements, making it a versatile and special vessel.Serena’s launch represents a significant milestone, showcasing the successful collaboration between Heesen Yachts, Arcon Yachts Monaco, and the yacht’s owners. The vessel is expected to provide an exceptional experience for all on board.Heesen Yachts is a Dutch ship building company that specializes in custom-built superyachts in aluminum and steel from 30m to 70m in size.
