We first met at a mutual family friend’s pool party. At the time, neither of us could have imagined how important that moment would become. She was the first person I saw as I walked through the door. Among the conversations, laughter, and busy crowd, she immediately stood out to me. Her mindset, thought process, and perspective were captivating. Her smile, the effortless way she carried herself, and needless to say… she is absolutely gorgeous. I originally planned to attend another event with my friends that night, but those plans went out the window because I wasn’t about to leave without getting to know her. We talked for hours, and long after the night ended, memories of that evening stayed with me. What started as a casual conversation slowly became the highlight of my days.

We planned our first date, and I was looking forward to it without really knowing what to expect. From the very beginning, the evening felt almost magical. We met at a cosy restaurant with soft lighting, quiet music, and an atmosphere that somehow made the rest of the world disappear. Our conversation flowed so naturally. We talked for four hours about childhood memories, interests, and dreams that shaped us, and even the little similarities in our families, personalities and upbringing that made us laugh in surprise. Every moment together felt effortless, genuine and right. This felt different. Deep down, I already sensed there was something special about her.

As the night went on, I realised I was opening up to her in ways I normally never do. Every smile, every shared story, and every quiet moment between us made me feel closer to her. Somewhere between the laughter and the lingering glances, something shifted. It was subtle, but undeniable. I think we both felt it, the quiet understanding that this was the beginning of something meaningful. I found the love of my life, and I couldn’t wait to spend forever with her. So, surrounded by our family and friends, I asked her to marry me during an intimate surprise proposal. From the moment we met at the party, to the unforgettable night of our first date, and now to our life together as husband and wife, every step somehow led us exactly where we were always meant to be: together.
