Whispers of Joy is Nada Ghazal’s latest collection of jewellery, and like all her creations, they are deeply personal and linked to her life. Fluid sculptural gold shapes finished in tactile brushed gold embody Nada’s uprooting from Beirut to set up home and business in London.
This transition is captured in the flowing gold forms punctuated by bursts of vivid, bright gemstones that float and dance like the moments of joy that, all too fleetingly, flash through our lives.
Ever philosophical and profound Nada says: ‘Life is our home, and emotions are only visitors. Some arrive loudly, others more quietly. Joy is often the quietest of all -but also the most transformative when we choose to welcome it.’ These words are not spoken lightly or with frivolity but with the optimism and positivity of someone who has witnessed atrocities firsthand.

Born in Beirut, Nada Ghazal has lived through war, destruction and sorrow and this collection celebrates the evanescence of joy and her choice to embrace it, even in the smallest glimmers, that illuminate our lives. The sinuous form of each jewel, some ribbon-like, others bulging like ballons, or with smooth butter-soft edged forms are sprinkled with joyously juicy bright gemstones: a reminder to seek out happiness and hold it tight.
The jewels are even more poignant as it is Nada’s first collection conceived in London, following her decision to relocate from the continually strife-worn Beirut to London, a decision not taken lightly. Her Beirut atelier and showroom are still active and defying the odds, produce all her designs and she travels between to two countries keeping the business thriving.
Founded in 2003, Nada has succeeded in a large part thanks to the strength and originality of her designs and the innate appeal of carefully handmade jewels. Her energy and determination have added the rocket fuel to her business that now has points of sale in Beirut, Dubai, Riyadh, New York and in 2023, a London flagship on Pont Street, Belgravia.
Nada and the jewels are inseparable, and like her are vivacious, playful and chic. Nada’s trademark look is bright crimson lipstick with a preference for pink and red clothes in quirky proportions: think high gloss red jumbo platforms, outsize bows and exaggerated shoulder pads. The jewels flow from this same quirky yet elegant place and each speaks straight to the heart.
