A few months back, the MacBook Neo took the tech world by storm, delivering the best-value laptop of 2026. Even after the recent price increase, it remains the most recommended entry-level laptop for most people. And just like Apple’s other cost-effective products, they brought some playful colors into the mix, like Citrus, Blush, Indigo, and Silver, giving these MacBooks a pop of personality and color. But one gripe I had was that most MacBook accessories are color-matched to the traditional silver or space grey colors. That is where Satechi comes in with their new trio of color-matched accessories for the MacBook Neo. They add more ports, connectivity, and functionality without taking away from what makes the Neo visually unique. Here is what you should know!
I have actually reviewed the big brother version of this product before and loved it. This is the most versatile accessory of Satechi’s new collection. It turns one of your USB-C ports into 5 additional ports, and the form factor is great. It is about the size of a hockey puck and also includes a MagSafe. So you can use this with your MacBook Neo and your iPhone. The USB-C hub gets you:
- 4K video output at up to 60Hz over HDMI
- USB-C pass-through charging up to 60W
- USB-C port with transfer speeds up to 5Gbps
- USB-A port with transfer speeds up to 5Gbps
- Full-size SD card reader
- A nice integrated nylon-braided USB-C cable

Since this has MagSafe capabilities, they included an adhesive magnetic ring to attach to the lid of your MacBook Neo. Not only that, but they also color-matched the metal ring to the Neo’s color! So if you are not using the adapter, then the magnetic ring does not stick out like a sore thumb. As I mentioned, this is my personal favorite of the bunch because it can be used in a ton of different ways. It’s compact, well-built, has the main ports most people would need, and works with multiple devices.
The OntheGo Multiport adapter comes in the same MacBook Neo colors and is available today for $44.99 on Amazon and Satechi’s site.
This is the more traditional USB-C hub form factor people are used to. It snaps onto the side of the MacBook Neo (hence the name “Snap hub”) and expands to give you six new ports, one more than the OntheGo hub mentioned above. You can tell it was purpose-built for the MacBook Neo because of how secure and flush it fits. With the Snap Hub you get:
- 4K video output at up to 60Hz over HDMI
- USB-C port with transfer speeds up to 5Gbps
- USB-A port with transfer speeds up to 5Gbps
- SD and MicroSD card reader
- USB-C pass-through charging up to 45W (more than enough to charge your MacBook Neo, which caps at 30W)

The Snap Hub is easily the most seamless-looking of the three accessories. It looks and feels like a product Apple made. It has a two-tone look where the top matches the material and color of Neo perfectly, but they geniusly changed the material to this soft touch rubber around the rest of the casing because they knew it would be up against the metal casing of the Neo, and usually, metal on metal does not work well. I thought this was a great design choice. One thing to note is that this hub will occupy both of the USB-C ports on the Neo, but the hub still gives you two USB-C ports and an additional USB-A port.
The USB-C Snap Hub is available today in the same four Neo colors that we have mentioned. It is the same $44.99 price that the OntheGo Hub adapter is, and it’s available on Amazon and Satechi’s site.
To round off Satechi’s new Neo collection, they have revamped the Slim EX Mouse to color-match the rest of the lineup. I tested their non-colorful version of this mouse, and it’s one of the easiest products to recommend because of the value. For $29 you get:
- Connectivity to up to 3 different devices
- Two via Bluetooth
- one via the 2.4GHz dongle (which is a USB-C dongle!)
- Alumunum build
- Charges via USB-C
- User-replaceable battery
- Three months of active continuous use and over one year of battery in sleep mode
- Also includes a USB-C cable to charge and for connectivity

The fit and finish of this mouse are what you would expect from a mouse twice the price. It has a nice, low-profile aluminum body and is ergonomically pleasing for long hours of continuous use. The ability to switch between multiple devices quickly is something I do constantly, switching between my MacBook and iPad. Also, the fact that the 2.4GHz dongle is USB-C and not USB-A is such an underrated upgrade. And even though the trackpad on the Neo is fantastic, I personally like to use both a trackpad and a mouse. I use the trackpad for gestures and side-scrolling, and the mouse for more precise point-and-click actions.
The Slim EX Wireless Mouse is available in the four colors we mentioned, as well as Black, which was released previously. The mouse is priced at $29.99 and is available on Amazon and on Satechi’s site. If you want to save a bit of money, the Black color is the exact same mouse and is on sale for $23.99.
Final thoughts
Satechi is the first to bring color-matching accessories like this to the MacBook Neo, and they seem to understand who the target customer is. They are bringing high-quality, functional accessories to the MacBook Neo line that had to make some compromises to be priced at $699. All of these accessories are well-built, offer a lot of tangible functionality, and enhance the MacBook Neo experience.
If I had to pick one of these, I would lean slightly towards the OntheGo Multiport adapter purely because of the versatility and how it can be used with any device that has a USB-C port and MagSafe. But the Snap Hub is also great with how well it physically integrates with the Neo and then the Slim EX mouse is just the cherry on top of it all. What do you think? Are these accessories worth it?
