It’s spring 2026, and the streets of New York are filled with girls doing their best Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy impression. In other words, you’ve probably seen a lot of tortoiseshell headbands paired with sleek all-black ‘fits. Cameron Diaz, however, is is taking a far more maximalist approach to the headband trend.

On April 10, the actress was spotted in New York filming her upcoming rom-com The Sham—and she wore not one, but two headbands. In the first look, she tossed her hair into a curly messy bun, which she accessorized with a twisted white broderie anglaise headband. And her look was anything but ’90s minimalist—instead, she paired an oversized graphic T-shirt with a fuzzy beige cardigan and abstract striped leggings. Later, she was also spotted wearing fuzzy Ugg boots.

For her second headband look, Diaz wore a leopard print hair accessory with her messy bun. Once again, she wore a mismatched outfit, pairing a hooded knit with a patchy brown leather jacket and heeled boots.
In her real life, Diaz typically wears her hair straight, in a subtly side-parted lob. However, on the set of The Sham, she’s been sporting plenty of bolder hair looks. Earlier this week, she was seen filming with tight ’80s curls. On another day, she wore side-parted waves. For an evening shoot, she wore her hair in voluminous curls.

Diaz returned to Hollywood last year after a decade-long hiatus. Diaz had taken the time off to focus on her two kids—Raddix and Cardinal—whom she shares with husband, Benji Madden. “That was what I was putting most of my focus on,” Diaz said in a recent behind-the-scenes interview. “If I was doing anything other than just sort of being a mom and living my day-to-day.”
Diaz now has a number of projects lined up. In addition to The Sham, she is also set to reprise her role as the voice on Fiona in Shrek 5 and star in Apple TV’s The Outcome.
