Disney has had lots of success on Disney+ with its preschool animated shows such as “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+” and “Bluey”. The next big show to arrive on the streaming service will be “Cars: Lightning Racers.”
This new series is set in the world of the Disney/Pixar film franchise. It follows Lightning McQueen as he gears up for all-new adventures in Radiator Springs alongside his hilarious best friend Mater and new friends thrill-seeking drag car Pipes and mud-loving monster truck Miles.
The upcoming series will see many of the cast from the films return to provide the voices of the characters, such as Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy, reprising their roles as Lightning McQueen and Mater.
Also returning are Tony Shalhoub as Luigi, Cheech Marin as Ramone, Bob Peterson as Chick Hicks and John Ratzenberger as Mack. Along with Bonnie Hunt as Sally, Jenifer Lewis as Flo, Guido Quaroni as Guido, Lloyd Sherr as Fillmore, Michael Wallis as Sheriff and Paul Dooley as Sarge.
It’s also been revealed that Sheryl Lee Ralph (“Abbott Elementary”), Leah Lewis (“Elemental”) and Yuri Lowenthal (“Marvel Rivals”) have joined the cast as Ms Blinker, Pipes and Miles.
A first look image from the series has also been revealed by Variety:

The series will be produced by Disney Television Animation in association with Pixar. Travis Braun and Frank Montagna are on board to executive produce the series. Dana Starfield is the story editor, and Nathan Chew is the show’s supervising director.
“Cars: Lightning Racers” will debut in 2027 on Disney Jr and on Disney+.
Roger’s Take: It’s clear that Disney is using a different art style for this preschool show, which I think is probably a good idea, as it gives viewers a simple way of telling this show is aimed at very young audiences and no doubt, this will spark a whole new way of selling new merchandise to the young fans of the “Cars” franchise.
