Indore: A woman in Jhabua district was forced to carry her husband on her shoulders and paraded through her village before her head was shaved by family members and locals over accusations of elopement.The incident, reported from a village under Kakanwani police station limits, occurred on Monday with its video emerging a day later, triggering outrage.According to police, the woman was forced to carry her husband on her shoulders and paraded in the village as people watched. After public shaming, her head was shaved.Initial investigation suggests that the woman was accused of eloping with another man. Following the circulation of the video on social media, police traced the survivor and provided her protection.Additional SP Pratipal Singh Mahobia said that around 10 people were involved in the incident. An FIR has been registered against six persons, including the woman’s husband. So far, four persons —Surya from Palashdor village; Dilip, Babu Bhuriya and Shailesh, all residents of Balwasa— have been arrested.
