An unlicensed driver and a private hire vehicle owner have been ordered to pay more than £3,000 between them following an inspection at Milton Keynes Central Railway Station.
The case began on March 26, 2025, when a Milton Keynes City Council taxi enforcement officer spotted a damaged car in Station Square.
The vehicle was licensed by Transport for London, but a routine check quickly revealed serious legal breaches.
The driver, Hassan Mwalim of Milton Keynes, was found to be operating without a private hire licence, a full UK driving licence, or any insurance.
The car’s owner, Maabadi Shaaban Ali Mgidos of London, was also charged for allowing the vehicle to be used illegally.
Both men appeared in court on March 27, 2026, where they were convicted of the offences.
The court handed down heavy penalties to each person: a £660 fine, a £264 victim surcharge, and £592 in legal costs.
In addition to the £1,516 total financial penalty per person, both men received eight points on their driving records.
Transport for London has been notified of the convictions.
Milton Keynes City Council has confirmed that enforcement activity will continue to ensure passenger safety and uphold licensing standards across the area.
